I don't like going out onto our front lawn this morning to see that someone has let their dog s**t on our grass!!! Our garden isn't fenced etc so folk walking by don't seem to appreciate the fact that they are letting their dogs walk all over MY grass!!! All they need to do is ask and I would even give them a poopbag to clean it up.................cos that's what responsible owners do, clean up after their dogs! Rant over.2 points

Upgrading from SYNC 1.0 to SYNC 1.1 can be done pretty cheap. A used SYNC 1.1 APIM module can be bought online for approximately €30,- including P&P. Reconfiguring is relatively easy. In my opinion the upgrade from SYNC 1.0 to SYNC 1.1 is worth every penny. The SYNC 1.1 system has the ability to update the APIM module from a USB drive (update files can be downloaded from several Ford websites like Ford Australia, Ford India, etc.). The SYNC 1.0 system can only be updated by a Ford dealer which costs quite some money. Next to this the SYNC 1.0 system is officially no longer supported by Ford. No more new updates will be released for this system. The SYNC 1.1 system is currently still used in several Ford models and is still supported by Ford. Officially Ford does not support upgrading from SYNC 1.0 to SYNC 1.1. In fact they say it is not even possible.2 points

CO levels checked this morning, needed checking after replacing idle speed control valve, ECU and resetting base idle. All good should be 0.8 +/- 0.25.2 points

Alright peeps. Today I filled up with Shell V-Power Nitro+ for the first time and I tried to put a shot of Miller's in but being a typical noob it went out the overflow and all over the rear tyre, what's worse is, I did this twice lol so that's 100ml on the floor. There isn't one of those funnels in the car, under the spare wheel, nowhere, so tomorrow I'll grab one from Ford. Driving out the petrol station I didn't notice nor expect much as I am just after a sound running vehicle, but after 10 or so mins, man I swear I could feel the change. First thing I noticed was the engine was a lot quieter, I could barely hear it at the lights and the car is significantly more responsive, just a waft of throttle and the car surges forward and the response is instant. I got back wondering could it be in my mind, so I went for another spin and yep it's still the same. Feels like a new motor. So anyone else like me who hasn't given this a chance before I can 100% recommend it :)1 point

That certainly sounds like ours, although we are in Surrey, so a fair distance away! But here it is... And today, we went to the Simply Aston Martin show at Beaulieu Motor Museum, a great day out, met a few people from Pistonheads and there were over 300 other Astons there. Beautiful weather too! What more could you want?! People kept getting in my pictures! It attracted lots of attention, as there were only another 5 or so DB11's present. If I'd had the final say on the colour... Still prefer the Rangie though (and of course my beloved Focus, I for one am convinced it would beat the Aston in a drag race ) Lovely to see British engineering at its best!1 point

Wiring problems are very difficult to find without all the information from the system. Ford has the information, but unfortunately they will not give it too you. So I think you need to pay the Ford dealer a visit. If you do not want that, you need the check the complete wiring harness. Starting at your front bumper, check al the connectors, etc. a lot of work if you ask me. The PDC system of a MK7 is not connected to the BCM or canbus system. It all works analog, it gets its power from the reverse light or (in case of front PDC) the button on the dash. Very old fashioned, but it works.1 point

I've got a funny feeling losing his licence might not have any effect. I hope if he has an accident, it's only the ditch/wall/lamppost and his car that he ruins.1 point

Good tip! I am happy with the car and for £132 it is a bargain. All four tyres are Toyo Proxes which were replaced 3,000 miles ago and the brake discs and pads were replaced for the last MOT which was 1,000 miles ago. The tyres and brakes alone as parts would be worth £132 at least.1 point

I can't workout wether you are trolling @winemart2 or just that ignorant that you believe what you say is right. I arrive at my destination every time I set out, I arrive on time and having seen all there is to see on the way. I put my foot down when I'm out of cities and residential areas but I do what is 'safe' and if I did get caught I wouldn't be looking at losing my license. My 'idea' of driving is to get from A to B safely and somewhere close to legally, while enjoying the drive, scenery and company. I'm saddened to be on the same forum with somebody with your views. I only hope that one day, before you injure someone, you have you're licence taken away from you. Assuming your driving experience started at say 14 then you are at least 66, I would say you should have more sense but from your words I can see it would be wasted. vehicles with 1.0L EcoBoost engines built from 04/2014 a variety of the oil level height could be recognized on the dipstick by the customer most likely after maintenance service. In some cases the engine oil level shown is a few mm over max. level chamfer. Due to engine build up tolerance and the variety of oil drainage and physical parameter there is a tolerance of 2 – 4 mm oil level over max. chamfer. This condition will not effect reliability or long term durability of the engine and will not cause any oil push-over. This applies to all carlines with 1.0L EcoBoost engine. so basically up to 4mm over is ok , but 10-12mm is excessive.1 point

I don't like having to spend money on car repairs rather than mods a cv boot and lower engine mount to start with, then try and cure the mystery squeak when I brake, so it's back to work using pedal power. On the upside it'll save me £100 a month in petrol and I avoid the annoying road works on a daily basis1 point

Thanks Lenny I might give it a try soon next job for the focus is coloured calipers but what colour?1 point

I will check that out, thanks Lenny. As it happens I used the car this morning and lo and behold, the "blown" bulb is working again!! Either it is a dodgy bulb or there is some loose wiring. I'll investigate in due course, right now I've had about as much as I can take!1 point

All your readings was dropping on second test. Try adding something like redex or Wynn's. I have tried both before. Did u just start car up and take it straight to MOT. Get car warm first then drive it in coz the second test was dropping on all figures and u was only 0.6 out of passing.1 point

The early Focus MK2 versions (build before approximately 01-2007) did have green illumination. Late Focus MK2 (build after approximately 01-2007 did have the small interior facelift which also included the change to red illumination. The ESP switch you have is for the earlier MK2. You need the type of switch for the late MK21 point

Cannot you see, he is Killer... so perhaps 008? or 009? But than I wonder why he is after Edge not Aston Martin... And I'm sure "Q" can fix that little issue for him.1 point

what engine? the 1.6tdci can have a problem with the fuel injectors seals (copper washers) leaking. you get seepage of diesel around fuel injectors. the small puddle then starts cooking into a thick black tar like goo that smells. Sometimes doing the bolts up a bit tighter fixes it for a while. don't overtighten. if you strip/break a bolt you have a serious problem see pic (I know that is a peugeot forum but the 1.6tdci is the peugeot engine) http://www.peugeotforums.com/forums/307-38/injector-removal-washer-seal-replacement-1-6-hdi-126850/1 point

AM5T-14D544-EE is not the part number of the APIM module. This is a software (package) version number. As far as I know this is the latest available software version for the SYNC 1.0 system. Based on the production date of the car it should have a APIM module with (most likely) part number AM5T-14D212-FD. The APIM module of the SYNC 1.0 system can be replaced by a SYNC 1.1 APIM module without any problems. However you must be aware that the new APIM module must be configured correctly. The SYNC 1.1 APIM module has a different configuration from the SYNC 1.0 APIM module. Because of this when retrofitting the SYNC 1.1 APIM module to a SYNC 1.0 vehicle the AS-BUILT data of the vehicle can not be used to configure the new APIM module. The configuration settings stored in the AS-BUILT data are simply not compatible with the SYNC 1.1 APIM module. Next to this most different Ford models use the same type of SYNC 1.1 APIM module but all have different configuration parameters. When changing the APIM module Ford dealers uses either the (backup) settings of the original APIM module or the AS-BUILT data to configure the new module. In this case this procedure will not work because of the different configuration. The easiest/best way to configure the new SYNC 1.1 APIM module is by doing it manually using a suitible diagnostc system/software. For example this can be perfectly done with an ELM327 interface and the free Forscan software (you need an extended licence for this which can be obtained for free after registration on the Forscan forum). A SYNC 1.1 APIM module from a Fiesta should in theory be plug and play. However I would personally at least check the configuration to be correct. An incorrect configuration can cause several (very) strange symptoms. The configuration of your current SYNC 1.0 APIM module should look like this (configuration of similar 2013 SYNC 1.0 Fiesta): 7D0-01-01: 0250 9D88 0050 7D0-02-01: 044E 4C00 0078 7D0-02-02: 00DB The configuration of a SYNC 1.1 APIM module should look like this (configuration of a 2014/2015 SYNC 1.1 Fiesta with APIM part number D1BT-14D212-CC or D1BT-14D212-GA (based on multiple vehicles)): 7D0-01-01: 019F 88C0 03C4 7D0-01-02: 4000 001A 7D0-02-01: 044E 4C00 0078 7D0-02-02: 00DB 7D0-03-01: 0000 0000 00DB This should also be the correct configuration for your car1 point

You intend to arrive somewhere, so do pedestrians. If you hit one at >60 like you claim you drive in 30 zones, you'll kill them. Guaranteed. If it's just talk - and i hope it is - i don't know who you think you are impressing.1 point

I don't like only having the Volvo for one day and it already blowing one of the tail lamps!! Thinking back our old V40 liked to blow at least one bulb on a weekly basis, so it seems this one will be no different.1 point

All spoilers are inter-changeable, the newer Zetec S is a little larger around the lip area than the old version but hardly noticeable to the eye. When the time comes to remove the original spoiler you've got to be brave & brutal to remove it! Removing the screws is just half the job as the rest of the spoiler is held down with VERY STRONG nylon locating points, so you've got to really 'heave ho' to remove the spoiler. When fitting the spoiler you've really got to be heavy handed and push down hard at the nylon locating points. Don't forget if you buy a second hand spoiler it'll not come with a wire extension & washer extension tube.1 point

Thanks for that mate, I'll give it a try. Have you tried checking the bit of plastic between the steering wheel and the speedo? Mine seems to be lose abit, thats what I'll check next after the dash trim. so much plastic on the whole dash its hard to tell what exactly is causing it!1 point

No, they will pay market value for a similar spec and condition (as in buying price not selling price) if you had just replied the engine that wouldn't matter to them.1 point
