  1. I think you should remove the A, N, U, and the M Then fit the S badge in place of the M Titis ;)

  2. So here's the deal, after exactly 95 days since ford confirmed my order until today, in 2.5 hours time I am going to the dealership to collect my new ST-2 in frozen white. The 95 days has given me plenty of time to research lots of the mods I want to do. The sun is shining so the mods will begin today! I thought I would start this topic so that later on today I can just start posting before/after pictures of the car. I am happy to take any suggestions and will feedback any help I can if people are interested in the mods I'm doing. I'll leave it there for now but hopefully have plenty of pics to post in the upcoming hours/days/weeks and months. Enjoy!

  3. The dipped beam are still h7 fitment so can still be upgraded to Philips etc, it's only the drl/main beam used for flashing etc that are h15. Hopefully they'll bring an upgrade bulb out now there used more widely.

  5. The old version of the MR2 was alrite, could create a Ferrari replica with the chassis,But no mx5 guys, I need a back seat for the kids in the event to focus is ever unavailable the Levin would become the required vehicle although Vicki says herself or the kids will NEVER sit in it lol

  8. Whilst there is a lot of tuning support for these cars, a lot of it is in Australia/New Zealand, or in Japan and the US, so parts are gonna be a pain in the rump. If you want something nippy, an MX-5 is always a decent plan, and there's that many of them flying about parts are easy to acquire, and an instant few bhp from one of the millions of supercharger/turbo bolt-on kits out there. An easy 200bhp really. Alternatively, a Mini (classic) with a V-Tec in is always fun. And there is always the kit car approach.

  9. Lol its your 'ambient' lighting. If you park up somewhere dark with your lights on, you'll notice a nice warm glow around your gearstick and surrounding areas. Not all models have this, so feel lucky :-)

  14. I think if we send out a link to this fine forum for every single Corsa owner in the country and send them all a free pass to the next ford fair, they will all be driving their corsas off a short pier! :-)

  15. Took delivery of my fiesta zetec s ecoboost last weekend and loved every minute of it, so after getting used to it I decided to start the "personalisation/modding" after finding the time not driving the car. I started with changing the steering wheel trim with one I had sprayed Then I put a dmb overlay on I fitted an aluminium footrest I then wired up my own blue ambient led light over the glovebox De-tangoed Cree sidelights Xenon dipped beam Lockwood "s" door sills

  19. An MX-5 may not be the best looking, but with 250bhp in them they're more fun than most cars for that kind of price range :P What about an R33 Skyline? Or is that a little large? No Impreza's or Evo's, they're terrible things (although the hatchback Impreza is a win).

  22. what do you hope to get from complaining?as long as they are not defective chances are you will get nowhere, different tyres have different levels of noise and furthermore the lower the profile the less the rubber between the wheel and the road sadly equals more noise.

  23. There is a dilema here: These fly-by-wire cars we have nowdays have more power and are more fuel efficient. They cause less polution and, of course, all this is important. I certainly appreciate getting to my destination faster, with more comfort and the less money I waste on fuel the better. However, I don't enjoy driving like I used to. My favorite car, the one I enjoyed the most, was a 1957 Wolseley 1500 which I drove for 15 years. It was uncomfortable, noisy and although it was 'reasonably' powerful it certainly was not fuel efficient. Yet it was great fun and I am now dreaming of owning even older cars to bring back some of the driving pleasure I used to have. I don't think I am being overly nostalgic but I am just making the point that we are missing something, now that cars have become so impersonal. Doing all your own maintenance, and so on, gave you a bond with the car which is now less easy to find. This humble Ford Fiesta of mine has reminded me of some of those earlier times (although I must say that I appreciate the extra comfort!). It is a bit like a modern day Morris Minor (I hope no-one is offended!) and although the car was given to me (I would not have thought to buy one) it has grown on me very quickly and I love it. It has a touch of what I used to have with thoses older cars I once owned and I can look forward to working on it and improving it. Great fun. I can't wait to get that new engine in and see if it works...

  25. Here is a too mod for your gear change lmao http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RED-PINK-!Removed!-GEAR-KNOB-200MM-TAPERED-JDM-/300949808601?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item461201a5d9 One has to question.. why are they showing its size in comparison to an IPhone ? Might stop you jumping in to the drivers seat from the passengers side Instead of getting out and walking around the car!! The rear view mirror is magnified there for it is difficult to judge distance when reversing. IMO MX-5 is a hair dressers car mate, It is light, mid engined and fast but still a hair dressers car, and I'm 6ft 2in lol Honda is IMO boy racer, the VTEC sound boy racer don't like anything to do with Honda except my lawnmower, Giving the amount of mods I've done on the focus I think its best I go for something that mods are had to get for, Because then the temptation is less, Although I've found a full engine management system from HKS brand new for the Levin going for under 400 pounds, that's cheaper than a modern day ECU remap. I love the sound of Toyota twin cam engines and have my heart set on a 20valve 4AGE twin-cam engine, Thanks very much for advise Dave mate I do appreciate input, But its going to be a Levin for me, and I enjoy the challenge of importing mods from japan and newzealand, The Levin is very popular in Ireland seems to have skipped the uk, but I've saw on the dedicated forum, There are a few breakers dedicated a shed to Levin parts. The engine parts can be purchased from ford timing belts etc. Body kits are a difficult find but breakers can help, Rhdjapan is a website with plenty of new parts and body kits too.

  29. You're quite lucky to have that fitted as standard. Those lights go for silly money on eBay (if they ever come up at all). I had a hell of a job finding mine. Brigante had to go through a re-wiring nightmare to get his workin. Jammy Goit. ;)

  33. It was an offer he made to me when I was buying the car. He said he has a guy who's been doing it years and he would introduce me when i'm ready to have it done. I am presuming the price is "mates rates" because everywhere ive looked has been at least £500. With me having it done soon, i'm going to ring him to get more info because I want to know exactly who and where my car is going to and if they are reputable. When I get an answer, I will post the name of the place. If its a "mate" who does it then I wony bother! Want it doing properly and professionally or not at all!

  40. Welcome to the corsa crusha club! Initiation - buy a sledgehammer requirements - attend the nearest corsa that is no longer wanted by its owner obligation - transform it to a small square box Consideration - try not to assume that just because its a Corsa, its not actually wanted by its owner (where possible) however, we will be understanding...

  46. Hi Pete, Have you checked the tyre pressures. also I am not to sure if the mondeo uses the drive belt or an electric motor to work the steering pump, if it is the belt driving the pump it could be sliping at low revs giving you reduced power to the rack until you speed up.. if its electric it could need changing

  47. Good idea, I done this on my old starlet I got an empty 2ltr coke bottle took the return pipe off the reservoir and put it in the top of the bottle, The return pipe is the higher pipe on the reservoir; if you look at the tank one pipe will be at a higher level to the other. Disconnect the higher one and insert to the bottle. Tilt the reservoir so as not to spill the fluid from the open connection hole got my mate to start the car and stop it over and over in short bursts, to jolt the power steering fluid through the system from the reservoir tank in to the bottle on the return. as the reservoir got low I topped it up with fresh fluid keeping a minimum amount of the old fluid in the reservoir. then reconnected the system as normal topped it up to the correct level, run the engine properly for 5minutes turning the steering wheel to fully left and fully right a couple of times, then rechecked the level of the fluid. when you have this done leave the contents of the old fluid in the bottle to stand for a few hours then have a look at it, you will see a separation in colour with all the gunk in the bottom of the bottle, you can then dispose of the old fluid in the correct environmentally friendly manor, And also have minimum fluid spill in your engine bay. Steering felt a lot freer after changing the fluid, although the car was a 1997 and i changed the fluid in 2009 so it was well due.B)
