  4. Two lessons learned here. One, don't enable stuff that isn't on your car. Two RTFM before you even attempt to do anything. There is a possible solution, and that is to get a copy of your ASBUILT data and restore that back to the car using Forscan.

  6. Most likely place is near the fuse box in the footwell, as they generally take power from the fusebox. I have seen many fitted to vans and trucks over the years and they are always somewhere near the fuse box. Easy enough to remove, although be careful as they usually own the box and will likely want it back or charge you for it. so arrange to send it back to them recorded delivery once you have removed it, better to be safe than sorry.

  7. Hello Everyone Simple Warning Be carefull what you use Elmconfig and Focccus for. If you enable a module not existing it will produce Warning lights and warning messages on your car and could even render your car bricked ie un driveable I Enabled BLIS (BLINDSPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM) I did not buy Blis when i got my car, I can now not disable it, I try to write to the ecu (config) and iam stuck with a warning light and error messages. When i try to revert back it cuts out writing back to the ecu so now i have to face the embarrasment of going to the dealership for them to find out what i was doing Jamie

  8. Evening all! I've been tinkering with my engine and every time I opened the bonnet, the bar that holds bonnet up was always covered in a thin layer of oil. Couldn't work out where it was coming from, and also thought I had a fuel leak from the filter housing as the bottom silver run off plate was always covered in something. Turns out my turboboost pipe was split and I was losing power from it and also getting engine covered in fine mist of oil after a good run. I know most turbo's will, at some point in their life, leak a tiny bit of oil and i'm not too bothered at the moment, but will get the turbo looked at and possibly replace it with a reconditioned unit after Chrimbo. So, I bought a replacement pipe from Ebay and set about fitting it, Took headlight out to get better access and the bottom hose ring was a pig to get out, but a bit of WD40 and a little persuasion I got it off. Attached new pipe and hose rings with no bother at all. Turns out the rubbers on the ends of the original pipe were perished as well, so replacing the pipe was well overdue. Car runs a hell of a lot better now and next job is replace the oil and filter tomorrow. Its had a new air filter and fuel filter 2-3 weeks ago. When I bought the car, they said they would do filters and levels, but changed the filter and left the old oil in, and its black as black can be. I also want to replace the injector seals, the seals on the rails and the leak off seals. Do any of you have any advice on this? I know pulling out the old injector seals are a pig, so is it worth doing? I just want to keep the engine as tip-top as I can. I know she's done 171k but theres plenty of life left I think! Anyhow, sorry for waffling on and I look forward to any replys. Alan

  9. They won't produce the Mk7 ST alongside the new Mk8, production line won't allow it. So production of ST's will stop if they don't announce it before production. It will be existing stock then people queuing for the next one.

  12. As said there is no reason why you should not be able to unenable the option if you have enabled it. if it comes up with an error it's most likely something else causing it. As suggested have you tried downloading your as built data and writing that back as that would put it back to factory spec.

  15. Hello and welcome to you gavin As your question is car/model specific, It would be better placed in the dedicated focus section of the forum. Here http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/forum/2-ford-focus-club/ At the top of that page you will find the guides section. This is a very useful resource. A quick look finds this So do have a look and anything focus related post in the focus section. Lots of guides to help you and better quality car specific help.

  18. Soooo, my bluefin came today, and oh wow I am impressed! I didn't think it would make that much of a difference but my god it does. If anyone is thinking about buying one, and is on the edge, do it. Buy yourself one. You won't regret it I assure you that! Big thanks to Taeasz for selling me his reset unit.

  20. Ah so it's the main rear seal. Not so sure it's an engine out job though. Personally I'm not a believer of any oil additives, once a seal is worn it's worn.

  21. Yep me too - I run the same Tires/Rim's Year Round. The reason for this is there has only been one day in the last four years where I've not been able to get to work due to road conditions. Maybe if it gets worse I might look into it. For those that do have winter tyres - what difference do you notice. Is it just better Grip? Also I note people seem to de-alloy their wheels over winter to protect them but again I dont bother, just clean and protect them once a week to keep em in shape.

  22. I bought a Fiesta but might have actually gone with a Fusion, they seem like cracking cars in terms of the same platform as the Fiesta, just slightly bigger. Perhaps look at modernising it with LEDs, colour coding bits etc, just don't forget to tell your insurance company!

  23. Don't forget it maybe a tool for you but alot of us on here see our cars as a prized possession or as you put it, "an ornament to gaze at." Jasmine, If you plan keeping the car for the foreseeable future and you don't like how it looks, probably best to get it sorted. You'll be glad you did I'm sure.

  27. As far as I can tell the membership fee is a recurring payment in pay-pal if you paid by that method. I paid again for mine and got a refund as it auto renewed as well I hadn't even spotted it at the time. Mine was refunded without me even having to mention it to anyone, it was only the refunded payment that made me check it out.

  28. Its been aaaages since i posted, but anyway The car ahs had its exhaust built and it sounds brilliant. Extremely happy with it! nice and even tone throughout the revs & its nice and quiet! few cheeky pops here and there too It also had its map. We only went for "stage" 1 first time round as itll be going back in january free of charge for stage 2 On the dyno it made 159BHP, 133whp. 225nm. It feels like a completely different car! I honestly forget its a 1 litre, I'll try get a video up as soon as i have one. On another note, Im going to collect some service parts of a friend who works for ford so i can carry out its second service at home! its on 25k+ already :(

  30. When I changed the plates on my old mk2 I first encountered the scrivet problem. The screws were too big and the heads got chewed up trying to remove them. I had to resort to a screw removal drill bit which ripped the scrivets out leaving a pair of holes with rough edges. I used plastic nuts & bolts as a replacement but found that getting a hand inside the hatch to hold the nuts was not possible so found a length of 2" by 1" wood, cut a nut shaped hole on it and used it as a nut holder. It was fiddly but did work. I did actually plan to refit new scrivets to hold a plate holder so no holes would be needed in them but actually never got around to this due to changing cars 2 months later. I still have the scrivet set, plate holders and full plate sized sticky pads floating around somewhere at home if someone wanted them. Sent from my SM-G930F

  31. After showing the problem to my friend he told me to put the good hose straight back on. We started the car and it died. We started it again and gave it some revs and all of a sudden it started working properly. It now idles at around 700-800 revs once warm so I think everything is now ok.

  36. I run a cycle shop (part of a 3 store franchise type thing, where we've just been bought out by Halfords for 18.5 million) in West Wales but am ready to leave and move on due to it being a terrible, and unorganised, company to work for. Dream job would be a forestry ranger of sorts, something along those lines, ride mountain bikes day in day out which is why!

  38. Yes I monitor another forum which is where I got the links from. I've tried to guess the 3.10 URL without success. Will post them here as soon as possible though. They have been installed in Russia, which afaik uses the same EU version.

  39. ANNOUNCEMENT: SYNC 2 v3.10 is coming. In the USA it is already available (still not via sync.myride but currently only at dealers). I guess we have to wait a little bit until it will get to EU.

  40. Well I'm surprised at that and also not. Not surprised because of penny pinching on wire and surprised because the norm is that rear speakers are there as rear fill and in no way should a tap from them be used to provide signal for a subwoofer. If that car was mine I'd take it to a car hifi dealer to re wire it so the sub takes its signal from the front speakers.

  42. Another example of where It continues to amaze me that Ford specialist dealers are unable to sort problems out like this with all the Ford backup and diagnostic equipment and (hopefully) experience they have. Perhaps the latter is the root cause, they just don't have enough experienced technicians who understand what they are looking at when viewing OBD data. It seems to me that the technology that vast companies like Ford have engineered into their products are just too far ahead of the local service people. Sorry for the rant.
