  6. Lol, several minutes passed before I saw the owner...I was wondering wtf I should do with it otherwise!! . Would probably have just posted a found post on Facebook tbf lol. It's probably wise to not fly them in the dark in a housing estate tbh!

  7. Yeah it used to say, and the 'likes' still do say which thread, just the quotes that have stopped. The link still works fine though.

  10. I don't like that the notifications on here have stopped saying the thread this week...just 'XXX has quoted you in a topic' but not which topic. Anyone else or just me lol??

  11. Yeah it's fairly common tbh, I've seen it myself 3 times now, Vectra C it scraped the tyre but didn't drive far enough to go through fortunately, Mk6 Fiesta it went straight through and popped the tyre but fortunately just into a carpark...the speed hump to the carpark finished it off lol. And Mk7 Fiesta when I was on work experience back when they were fairly new, that one bust the tyre and caused a slide which ended up wrecking the rim and front bumper as well. I just don't really see the point of them, what was wrong with the straight springs!

  13. Pigtail springs. Like this one, my mk3 mondeo. Changed quite a few of these on other cars, I got lucky though it only fell when I took the weight off that side!
    2 points
  14. I don't know why they can't make springs stronger tbh...The roads have been full of potholes and speed bumps for years, not like it's anything new! The worst ones are the ones that are fatter in the middle, they snap the bottom coil and then the whole spring drops past the lower plate into the tyre and gouges it.

  15. Only just seen this request mike, it's getting dark now so I'll try and get pics up tomorrow, my tips are similar to unii's. I paid £450 all in, with lifetime warranty, which isn't bad considering I plan on keeping the car for as long as possible (10 years fingers crossed)

  20. Thanks mate really appreciate the advice Sorry Yunii for hi jacking your topic but as you can see when fitting a reversing camera and needing to get the wiring in to the car from the tail gate take car in threatening the wires through the goose neck you might try using a flexible cable to do the job like a bit a bicycle brake cable

  21. ***** hell lenny wish i had the motivation to do things like you do. Although sound doesnt really matter to me as it does with some people. I tried installing(hardwiring) a dash cam and now i have buggerd my electrics up and fobs wont work and radio cuts off on me from time to time. Lesson learnt not to touch any more electrics. Love the way you take pictures on the go to help people out. Top man 👍

  22. If you're removing headlining see guide here: Guide To fitting 10" HD Flip Down Monitor Focus Mk2 & Mk2.5 Click Here But if your just running a small cable for reverse camera then you don't need to drop the headlining, you can just pull down the rubber door seals and boot door seal. fish the cable through. get some coaxial cable or somthing stiff and tape reverse loom on the end to pull through. This guide will show what I mean: Guide Fitting Dual Camera DVR System Focus Mk2 & Mk2.5Click Here You also need to remove some front panels on drivers side to run cable up the drivers side pillar so for that see a section of this guide here shows removal of drivers footwell panels: Guide to fitting Ford puddle lights Focus 05-12 Click Here This Guide may also be of interest: Guide Installing Reverse Camera Focus Mk2.5 2008 - 2011Click Here

  24. by way of introduction, passed my test in 80, got a mk1 estate, then a sport, then a mexico, that was a bit of a dog, sold it built an RS2000 in the sport by way of a mk3 Cortina 2ltr, then a mk3? capri, then a mk3 escort estate, then a mk3 xr3i, then another capri 2ltr laser, then a mk3 fiesta, then a mk4, then a mk1 ka, (then an ex PO van, doh!) then a mk5 fiesta and we are up to date now, only had the sport and mexico at the same time for a while as I backed the mexico out of the garage without fully closing the door, it jarred open and caught in the garage door jamb, bent the welded hinge, but some guy called around to ask to buy it without it being for sale so off it went and I upgraded the sport as RS2's were hard to find good even back then, only my ist estate (blue) and first fiesta (white) were not red, all the rest were, bit of a sore point with me that, you see when I got into cars virtually all the fords were "decent" colours, lime green, bright orange, light blue, crimson or scarlet red and even a purple, now pretty much everything looks like its either in a black and white old film or off to a funeral, sorry if that upsets anyone, to me a car colour should make you go, wow, look at that, and it pop your eyes out, I'm getting older so resale values and urban myth? rule out yellow so that just leaves good old solid non metallic red, ( easier to touch in) funny thing is I got a tin of ford ivory spray from Halfords for a non car related project and it struck me, how long has that colour been going? I remember it from ages back, back when I started fords won everything, barry lee, waldegard, capris too, and lived at the top 3 in the sales charts, datrust had that blue velour all over, Volvos looked like doylams riding around in the blazing sunshine with full beam on, fords had rubber mats, vinyl seats ,no radios, a foot operated screen wash and wipe, they were still a million times more cool than anything else ordinary on the road.i must admit I wish the latest fiesta looked like the corsa, but after the van I doubt ill venture away from the blue oval again, I once took a fettler to hebden bridge in a works pool car, a crysler alpine, turned off a roundabout, eased my grip on the steering wheel and we had to go round again, felt a right xxxx, recirculating ball steering! not the same as fords rack and pinion, went to brake and we lurched forward and back like a comedy film, the pedals must have been slightly out of where they were on every ford id ever been in , including vans and a truck with 3 drop sides each side! now that was a long truck for me, when somebody shunted another car into my Ka and I had a courtesy one, a Peugeot, having turned out of a junction and noticing the indicators hadn't self cancelled I gently nudged the stalk up, ok no problem, then I noticed the clocks looked a bit dark although it was getting light ( morning drive to work), turned out stupid cars lights were now of and I only lightly touched it, cant do that with a ford, unless its changed as you have to twist the stalk, well there you are, hope I didn't bore you all too much, happy motoring,

  28. nothing you've turned will effect the car that way what youre experiencing is crabbing if you removed the gearbox you may have disturbed the subframe and steering geometry assuming its,all back together correctly and the gearbox mounts tight it may be out of alignment 4 wherl alignment will be necessary

  32. it wont make any difference. the battery is only there to start the engine and provide power for immobilizer , radio , and engine management memory whilst the car is switched off. once engine is started the alternatior provides electrical power to all the cars systems.

  33. yes it would be easier. sometimes it's about how quickly you want to do it and where you need to get the parts from. eg. you might have to wait for resistor pack in post or drive a long way, but you might be able to get a thermal fuse locally on same day. But you still need to bear in mind that it might blow again if there is something else causing it to blow eg. stiff heater fan.

  34. I guess you could fool the car into thinking it's warmer than it actually is by putting in a sensor that is out of calibration so that at 0c it actually reads 5c etc.

  35. This is a total pain and makes year round use of the air con impossible. My previous car an Astra it would work all year round. We don't get dry air in this country until at freezing or below. It's very damp is the air. My car windows and side windows are forever misting up and constantly using the rear heater and front screen one.

  40. Pioneer are a bit more expensive than the Chinese units but there a better option if your planning to add amplifiers at a later date or other items such as an Amazon Fire TV stick or a second screen. I've fitted a Pioneer AVH-8600BT along with two JL Audio Class D Amplifiers the pioneer units have self calibrating equaliser technology they also feature CarPlay which will bring your motor bang up to date with new vehicles rolling off production line. 44. It should be possible in all circumstances to unlock the front door locks manually. The key barrel in each door is mechanically connected to the lock. There is no electrical power needed at all to unlock the car manually. I personally expect the locks and/or keys to be worn out. The focus MK1/MK1.5 has Tibbe locks and keys. Tibbe locks and keys are known to wear out relatively quick. Tibbe keys are hexagonically shaped and have 6 (or in some cases 8) surfaces that are machined to a certain angle. Each surface can be machined to 3 possible angles. Many people only replace the keys if the locks and keys are worn out. However this is only a temporary solution. A worn lock will cause a new key to wear very fast. If the locks and keys are worn the only permanent solution will be replacing all keys and replacing or overhauling the locking barrels. The locking barrels contain a number of plates that match the angle of the angled key blade surfaces. Worn out locks can be overhauled by replacing the worn plates. The bonnet and trunk lock do not contain a full set of locking plates and are less critical for a worn key than the door and ignition locks.
