  1. All non-management staff on FOC are volunteers and therefore we give our free time to help run the forum. There are over 50 different sections on this forum to categorise threads and ensure you are receiving the most appropriate responses. The General Chat forum is ONLY for threads which DO NOT fit any other category. If your thread is anything do to with a specific model, it should go in the relevant model club section. If related to Fords in general, in the General Ford forum, etc. We have spent longer moving threads out of general chat and in to the correct section than anything else on the forum, but this will no longer be the case. In future, any thread which is not general chat, i.e. related to Fords or fits in another category will be deleted without warning.

  7. Im back! i know i shouldn't answer after so long a thread but i think its the correct thing, it could help someone in future. I got my bluefin a couple of weeks back its just that i was quite busy with work and stuff and didn't install it till last week more or less. Okey... lets start by W O W ! ! !. When i installed it, i was excited like a child, the engine was cold so i drove low rev till it heated and actually got to the highway, there i pressed down the gas and DAAAMN!!! its become a complete different animal, its like more aggressive, just perfect. It feels more power in general and as if the car is more light LOL! Anyways, i also wanted to share something that happened just few days ago. I was going back home from a late dinner, when i got into the "highway" (its just two lanes in my place) and it was 3 o clock AM, nobody on the road, just an idiot on an BMW 530 and me. I wanted to really test the Bluefin, so i got the car at max, and the stupid BMW must have thought that i was racing with him or something, the incredible thing is that i don't know if he really did gas or no but my fiesta was definately faster! by very little, and was surprised because the BMW is like 3 times my engine... anyways, just wanted to share this for someone to realise that the change after bluefin is totally WORTH! Thanks to everyone here. Very kind and helpful! Cheers!

  10. Hi guys, just a quick one here. Can I use suspension off a st170 or st 2 on my 2005 Ford focus 3dr? If not, what would people recommend on how far I should drop mine. Want it to look like nice but still be able to cope with speed bumps. I will be fitting St 17" alloys when I find some! Second, are there any head units that I can fit which have USB and ports for a sub? I was thinking a head unit out of a St model...can anyone recommend anything? (PS.my wiring skills are average enough to wire a sound system!) thanks in advance guys!

  11. Ok i already have a cheap 1 into 2 splitter for my Ethernet cable but i think i might have a problem as i only found out that it will only run 1 output at one time. Is there ones out there which are not powered and not a mad price to run 2 outputs as i run p.c and I.P cctv Camera so if its a 50/50 output its great as im on 200Mbps anyway. My speed is very up and down and all is working fine just this might be the problem as the i.p camera is on 24/7.

  12. Got new tyres on my MK1 and had the alignment done but the steering wheel was off centre to the right, took it back to get corrected, now it's off centre to the left. Can i just put a half turn of adjustment on both sides to correct this myself or are the adjustments not linear like that from side to side? really can't be arsed taking this back and forth as the garage isn't that close.

  13. That's pretty much what I get from my 1.6 X reg old girl, if not slightly more when I drive carefully. I think I managed to push about 450 miles out of the old girl from brim to empty, not too shabby from the Zetec SE engine, with approaching 140,000 miles on the clock.

  14. Hi peter, thank you for your reply and i will be installing the blanking plate over the weekend , i do notice that when i pull away there seems to be a bit of a lag and hopefully this will go once i put the blanking plate in, i also notice that when i had my 1.9tdi golf x reg i did about 540 miles on a full tank of diesel and on my 1.8tdci focus im only getting around 420 miles on a full tank which the golf and focus took the same amount of diesel in there tank and im doing the same mileage and speed as i did in the golf.

  15. do like not doing the job im employed to do , and instead today ive been helping get 5 cars up lots of steps of hotel entrance and then park them inside foyer and conference rooms not designed for such things! cant go into detail but one car had to be carefully squeezed in and took nearly 2 hrs to get in position. made a change to looking at rows of transits all day.

  16. Seriously? Oh ffs it's a good job the repair didn't work then. I'll file it down and smooth it out then. Thanks @iantt Does that look like it's meant to be there? It is so round and perfect I did think it had been done intentionally but not for the good of the system. That will teach me for being cynical Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  17. Thank you for the very helpful info. It's a petrol 1.6 ti-vct. Been driving it today and digital display ready 25.3. Had look under bonnet see that maf on my air filter cover held down by couple screws. About a foot in front of that I have looks like another senser it's blue but the wiring goes into the loom of the maf. I have no error codes currently on dash. Only error code ever i had was lambada senser and that was fixed by the garage. I have a basic code reader.

  18. In every car we've had in the past 2 years the steering wheel has been off-centre, and none of the local garages can seem to get it right!! I'm not sure what is so difficult about clamping the wheel in the dead-ahead position before doing the alignment. Makes me think it is just laziness.

  19. cant help with the thread size unfortunately but i can with the gator (i hope) it will held on with clips, around the silver trim there will be clips holding it on, carefully take this off either with trim removal tools cheap on ebay or a screwdriver use a cloth to stop scratching the gloss black, it should pop off, off the top of my hear it should be 4-5 clips i think removal tools £2 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Trim-Removal-Tool-Pry-Panel-Dash-Radio-Door-Body-Clip-Installer-Kit-4Pcs-/172129924212?hash=item2813be3474:g:cGIAAOSwAuNW4piw

  22. This is a guide on fitting SMD Leds into the door handle Mk2.5 Focus. Tools Needed.: Large flat head screwdriver 8mm socket and driver Multimeter 4 x Scotch locks Insulation tape 4mm drill bit and drill Marker pen What i'm fitting is a 3 light SMD , they come in longer strips and can be cut down , These depending how you wire them can glow RED/BLUE or GREEN. http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1439.l2649 By preeee at 2011-10-29 Picture Heavy STEP 1 Removing the door panel , First start by squeezing the top and bottom of the plastic door trim by the handle and then prize from the window switch or alarm switch side. Pulling gently until it unclips , use a flat screwdriver if you can not get your finger nails behind.Once released unclip the wiring. By preeee at 2011-10-29 By preeee at 2011-10-29 STEP 2 With a flat screw drive move to the bottom half of the handle cover , insert the screwdriver and push down and work your way across until lower handle comes down and remove. Undo the 2 x 8mm bolts underneath the door handle and remove. If working on the drivers door unplug the window and mirror wires. By preeee at 2011-10-29 By preeee at 2011-10-29 STEP 3 Inner door card is held by 7 clips , easy way i found to remove was start at lower edge getting my fingers behind and using a large flat screwdriver rest it next to the clip and twist to unclip, cover the screwdriver with a rag first. Then work your way along the bottom and side's then the top leaving the one by the mirror until last as there is a small section behind the mirror trim. By preeee at 2011-10-29 STEP 4 Checking which wires so out with the multimeter, wiring is different.Passenger side the switch is the power window, drivers side is the alarm sensor turn off switch. Passenger side wires to wire too are Green/Black + and Black/White - Drivers door wires to wire too are Yello + and Black/White -. 23. Thanks for your help guys! I got the AA to come take a look and they couldn't find the fault so towed me to my local garage. The battery was completely dead and wouldn't retain charge - weird as it was new in September 2016! The alternator is also knackered and needs replacing. £430 bill later, hopefully she will be back on the road this week!

  25. I did try a power one i think it was where you plug it by the router to pick up the signal and then into a plug in the room but it was very poor signal i had. This was a Netgear one and also i kept getting signal drop, one minute there next minute gone which was a pain,if i could run off WiFi it would be amazing off the one cable i have hear,so is there a hub that gives out WiFi signal then just connect it to my only wire and power it up then get the WiFi passcode etc to link to the my devices.

  27. It is a bit bat tbh. I have 2006 1,6ti-vct estate and I am getting about 30-32(8,8..9,2 l/100km) and this is with -12;-5 C and studded winter tires and i do mostly short trips. -Maybe you or previous owners have used aftermarket air filter that needed to be oiled? In that case the Mass Airflow Sensor might be covered with oil/dirt which could influence your MPG. You might need to clean this. Mine was pretty dirty even without ever using aftermarket air filters. However look around how to clean MAF sensor because you could easily ruin it if done improperly. -Other thing that might influence this is PCV valve. it is relatively inexpensive part but will help keep your inlet manifold cleaner. -Maybe you should crunch the numbers by your self. Just get full tank of gas, check the mileage until you fill up again. Maybe results shown by you'r car are not accurate?

  29. Sorry only just got back on line, been a hectic few days. Thank you for your reply and suggestion. I love the taste of bonjela lol. It just seems to slide about and not get where it's supposed to and before I know it she has swallowed it. There is a liquid you can buy, not sure of the name but because it's a liquid then it coats your finger and then when she chews your finger it gets right on her gums. It doesn't seem to be a teeth thing though. Her temp went up to over 39 and the wife got a bit anxious and took her to the dr who said it was viral, just like I told her. I mean it's not as if it is my job to assess and triage people everyday, or is it lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  34. Why can you not use a powered hub? Ethernet splitters are horrendous. In my (professional) opinion there is never a right situation to use them. If there is only a single cable run and you cannot run another, then put a hub at the end where you need more ports (or indeed, a hub at both ends).

  35. Cheers for that and i can see your point, see the i.p camera needs to be connected all the while as WiFi is shocking in the 1 room which is a pity. I have tried the router extender and still no good,i only have 1 cable coming from downstairs to the upstairs. Thanks.

  36. I do like having Tesco Finest British sausages with their 97% pork content and low carb value (in comparison to other well known sausage brands) with a couple of bunches of watercress, dressed in melted butter Pipper declined a piece of sausage Whereas Brandy was great solicitor of any sausage, that was being consumed by anyone, seemingly anywhere!. Although I have noticed Pipper will not eat anything that is not in her bowl. And even then, if she doesn't recognise it as something doggy: she'll leave it. A piece of cheddar I gave her the other day, went untouched! She declines plates that are put down, in case she would like to lick them. My Mum put Molly's food on floor, forgetting that Molly has it on the worktop. Pipper completely ignored it all morning. Somebody must have trained her in her previous home, not to eat anything that is not in her bowl.

  39. You can't really split a cable, you need an Ethernet switch. You can split a gigabit cable down to 2 fast Ethernet cables with the right splitters at each end, but it will be susceptible to cross talk and a switch is much better and future expandable.

  40. Temperatures in the indoor workplace are covered by the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, which place a legal obligation on employers to provide a ‘reasonable’ temperature in the workplace. I believe that if the temperature isn't acceptable within the first 2 hours of starting work then you have the right to leave the workplace or at least take more 'comfort breaks'. 43. Your options are getting the battery tested. From Halfords or any other store. Next you need to find out if when you replaced the battery you used the correct type. You need it to be a silver calcium battery. What make battery is it you are using? Lastly get codes read, it would narrow down if this is gem module issue, ic etc.

  46. I've never even heard of that, how long does it last? Closest we use is spray on pre-icer the night before, but that becomes a chore with consecutive freezing nights.

  47. I've done the full mountune with all boost pipes, induction and secondary then including the bluefin! I did the bluefin after the mountune so I did notice an increase in response and there is a noticeable increase in sound! With regards to the cone filter, I previously had an open cone filter from pumaspeed but after 2 days I took it off through fear of hydro locking! Also with the cone filter it only uses the air within the engine bay and minimal exterior intake! With the mountune one it is sealed away from water and also has 2 air intakes to help! I mainly went for the mountune kit as I knew I was going to bluefin the car so i mainly did it to maximise airflow efficiency however you do gain some increases in response! The bluefin is what really makes it come alive however!

  48. ah , different story there im afraid with camshaft sens. still its worth just replacing that part first before thinking its all doom and gloom. :-) quick look on ebay shows a new one can be had for £30ish. the sensor location wont be in the bowls of the engine as a wiring connector has to be plugged into it , i'd expect it to be reasonably accessible.
    1 point
  49. You can add induction and hoses when ever you wan't after you tuned it with bluefin. But if you buy an intercooler, bluefin won't be sufficient anymore and you will need a custom remap to get the most of your new intercooler and the extra hp/nm it might give.
