No bother I did read that but there was conflicting views on it so I wasn't really sure. I also read the brightest standard kind of bulb that u can get is the osram night breaker. Would they be bright white as opposed to yellow? Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk2 points

Hi this question has been asked a couple of weeks ago led are best used for signing like indicators side lights or brake lights they do not work well if used to illuminate the road as you need to have the correct reflectors behind the bulb i do not think they would pass the mot2 points

I chickened out! I didn't go to see the car lol i just sat thinking about it and come to the conclusion that if i went to drive it i would return home cursing the car that i have for being so slow lol I also don't want to just 'settle' for any ST. So im going to save a bitta cash and wait for the ST3 Estate. That is a dream car of mine so id be better to wait. Im perfectly contented with the car i have though. It gets heads turning everywhere actually. I had a good laugh today when two fiestas full of lads nearly collided trying to croon their necks for a better look lol Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk2 points

Your shifts sound worse than mine. LOL 3 x 12hr days followed by 3x 12hr nights then 3 days off, half of which are spent sleeping after the set of nights catching up on you .2 points

I don't like coming across more little issues (mainly electrical) with the V40! They certainly don't make them like they used to. When the MOT expires in June I'll be on the look out for a 1980s or early 90s estate like the 760 et al.2 points

"Nightbreaker plus unlimited" are the latest version, Osram Cool Blue would be more white than the nightbreaker but not as bright. Id put cool blue in dipped beam and fogs with nightbreaker in the high beam1 point

What was you getting in your old car? I have the same car as you and I'm getting roughly low thirty's my typical drive is 4 miles to work and back five times a week, "shopping" which can include various retail parks around 14 miles away, so anything up to 100 miles on the weekend, mostly urban driving with about 30 miles duel carriage way. My car has done 97800 miles approx. Hope this helps.1 point

Ive just sold my 18" Facelift ST alloys on eBay and gone back to 16" snow flake saving myself €140 per year on tyres and increased fuel consumption, I've also removed the stripes as they only went well with the 18's I'm now modifying the interior of the house with custom radiators and stuff, seemed strange at first but im enjoying it now and regret wasting as much on the focus as i had done for six years. Your focus looks great and it's gonna stand out on its own when you get that wrap completed mate it looks really good indeed. Sorry I didnt get back to you at Christmas there my daughter got a black 21" bike and wanted pink metal fenders, I can't get 21" metal fenders anywhere except from an ebay seller in Florida and they want 75GBP for them including shipping almost costing as much as the bike and I'd be looking at wrapping them then after as there also black, I can't bring myself to spend that for a bicycle accessory.1 point

The stock speakers are surprisingly good as far as stock systems go, if BluePeter was still on BBC Ford would get an award for the best paper mache speakers on the production line to date in fairness 😁 but you maybe surprised to hear and see that there only 25W and don't handle high frequencies very well, Although they will work fine with an aftermarket headunit they wont shake anything. If amplified they would most definitely spit the magnet out the the cone. Like all car manufacturers they throw any old thing inside the doors as the buyer can't see it and it ticks the box for list of extras that invest more of the vehicles value in more competitive factors such as emissions standards and vehicle handling. Unless your buying a Porsche or Audi A6 where they install Bose audio as standard and hand stitch the seats anything lower than that level of manufacture just gets the paper mache setup. An aftermarket headunit then mono amplifier and sub would be a good setup aswell.1 point

Well thats given me alot to think about!! R the stock speakers not upto job then? Prob not id imagine.1 point

It took me 9 or 10 months to gather everything before I took 3 days off work and stripped the car out following the Haynes manual then installed everything in two days before putting it all back together, it really isint cheap no matter how much you try it's not possible to stay under 1000 quid on a sound system but it's most definitely worth the investment more than a body kit which amounts to the same. you could alternately fit an xtrons headunit there good quality and software is Android based, the internal amplifier quality won't matter atall if your fitting an external amplifier, The money is best invested in speakers and amps, the headunit doesn't do much after that except process the media. If You have good speakers like one good set of 6.5" components in the front doors and a 10" Sub in the boot you can leave the rear speakers standard for a bit of back fill and run both front speakers and sub from amplifiers. also alot of people just take the amplifier out of the box and install it without calibrating it, The calibration process is quite simple using a special Audio wave CD and a multi meter it sets the correct band of frequency which you want to amplify which helps you get the most output with zero distortion. so i recommend purchasing amps second hand preferably class C or class D on eBay with a cheaper xtrons headunit you won't need to replace the dash surround and pick up new speakers for around 150-200 aswell as a 10" Sub for around 100 and the custom enclosure for 90 wire the amps with 4AWG cable I can guide you with all of this aswell if required.1 point

I've spotted several of these four spoke steering wheels on ebay, some as little as £50 but some near on £200. To behonest I'd love one of these in my Fiesta, even the USA version is very different to the UK.1 point

I don't like running out of tea bags and biscuits, but being too lazy to walk from the house to the car to drive to the shops...1 point
-
Hi Ian, yes the four spoke wheel is nice and is something I will have a think about. Depends on what sort of price I could source one for.... Its a budget build as its my work van, Im just trying to tart it up abit and make it abit more appealing inside and out. I realise its never going to look like a titanium spec but Im having abit of fun as my last few cars have been decent spec new cars.... Ive kind of missed adding things and going through the process of making them look better etc.1 point

I work continental shift which is around the clock, each week it either mornings evenings or nights, So I understand where your coming from, also every week I'm on nights the side goes from the bed in the morning to the sofa for the day; using the excuse she can't do anything because I'm asleep 😁1 point

You could try either a can of tint spray or fly eye film if you want to tint the indicators in the door mirror I used a tint spray also used it on rear lights but yours are not clear like mine are so don't know how it will look I've seen people use the fly eye on headlights it's supposed to be mot legal but never tried it out1 point

Hey All, Just wondering should I check my engine coolant level when its hot or cold? I was just driving around and decided to check the level and saw that its on the "MIN" mark. Should I top it up or shall I wait until the engine is cool then check the level again? Thanks1 point

The button you mention I belive is just for manual update - if the install did not start automatically, you would go there, and select the files to install. It's not an available update. The Nav maps are on the SD card, and have nothing to do with the udpate. F6 is the nest NAV update, that you will have to buy,1 point

Hi guys I have a 2007 ford focus I have a 6000cd radio yuk I want to get a dab USB aux radio from the ford specs that fit ??1 point

Thanks jbell I did think that might be the case but I assumed locking wheels nuts where standard fit in recent years. That has put my mind at ease, off to eBay now for some caps1 point

Not to shabby mate but i'd personally paint the front fog light trim or wrap them with a carbon look wrap or somthing as to me they do tend to look cheap but that's my opinion ..1 point

It does age and fail eventually yeah. Even pressed discs can start peeling with age. Not sure what to suggest as you've tried different drives too. Is there still a clear shadow on the writable foil from where it was written?1 point

Get it back to the place you bought it from. 5 days and you've got all this going on? Naaaa. They can fix that! Cheeky monkeys! Sales of goods act might be a good one to review as well. They hate that being batted around.1 point
