  3. Which most people generally aren't lol. It seems to be "Join the back of the queue by 8:30", lol. I usually aim to be there for 7:30. Still can take half an hour to get in. Does depend which route we get taken in though.

  4. sounds like you had a right head ach fitting them then but well worth it as they do look good. liking the wheels cant wait to see pics when fitted I just don't envy you cleaning them as they are multi spoke lol

  5. The engine braking aspect sounds like it could be a big clue. In such a situation the engine will be pushed towards the front of the car and the engine mounts limit by how much this occurs. If a mount is loose/worn it may allow the engine (and gearbox attached to it) to shift too far forwards and, in doing so, be pulling in the opposite direction of the downwards action for second gear (as gearsticks pivot above the cables, pulling the stick pushes the select lever forwards). This could lead to it being pulled out of gear. It could be a variety of others causes too, but I would start by getting the mounts checked and a general feel for how far the engine can be rocked forwards.

  6. I'm not bothered mirrors being black just not 'glossy', would be better in matt or carbon. Shmee150 wrapped his roof matt black and I didn't mind it, but I commented on his video he should have wrapped the mirrors too. Yeh I'd have liked to see a dark & mean looking one, this RS500 style wrap does look stunning on the Mk3 RS, If I had the money for an RS I'd get it fully wrap protected, either clear or coloured. http://pwpro.co.uk/portfolio/ford-focus-rs-10#.WS30IWgrL-g

  9. So another few bits done this afternoon, not many photos taken due to a tight time frame to get it all fitted :) so firsts ups swooping the mountune cooler to the Wagner (poor photo of it installed) Removed the big mouth front looks a lot cleaner now new fogs and complete light kit from CEUK refitted the CAI hose under the headlight breedt manifold and throttle body Spacers along with the 2.3l ecoboost throttle body - which was a pig to fit in correctly as it was pretty tightly packed down there all done with the help of Gareth over at TK Performance so results, well already I can the cooler Spacers and throttle body are making an effect, throttle response is crisper torque and boost seem lower in the RPM range, on a dry road wheel spin is aggressive or can be in third, it pulls hard from the line, we found out it possibly has a sports cat already installed but we couldn't find any Ford number or info or any other info stamped into it so we don't know for sure? Whats next? Well I have a few visible changes to make, i.e. Tomorrow I'll get the new wheels fitted, need new wheel nuts, side and front splitters, shark fin antenna, change of sun strip colour combo, brakes I need to sort something about brakes, bigger discs on the rear and the RS 4 pots with tarrox discs and pads all round I do have some bits for sale if anyone's interest mountune cooler pumaspeed updated boost solenoid 2 x 25mm wheel spacers 4x 20mm wheels Spacers velossa big mouth power flex exhaust rubbers if interested pm me until tomorrow I'll update then :)

  10. I live on this stretch of the M25 (sandwiched between the M25, M4 and M3) and it's not always busy - use it enough to know! It is however quite often pot luck and there doesn't seem to be any real reason for it to be so variable. You should be OK if you get to Heathrow by 3.00pm as you will be between the lunchtime and evening rushes. Maybe even 4.00pm and you will be OK if lucky. I was on it last week at 4.30pm and it was crystal clear around Heathrow. But any issue on the trunk roads into London (A40, M3/A316, M4/A4, A3 being the main ones you will encounter), and you will get more people staying on it going on until the next road in. The worst part in my experience is between Heathrow/Staines and Chertsey because you get it going from 4/5 lanes to 3 at the M3 junction. It's almost always busy here. But clear the Chertsey junction and it usually frees up again. The Hertfordshire stretch (coming up to the A40/M40) may also be a bit of a problem as although they have widened to 4 lanes, I believe it still squeezes down to 3 for the junction. If you go for Dartford, don't forget to do the DartCharge thing. And it can be very congested around the M20 and M26 section - especially if operation stack is in place. Get caught in that and you may as well have your holiday in Essex! I imagine this being a problem area next week with people coming back from the channel tunnel and Dover. So I personally would go via Heathrow.

  14. Hi all, back to ford today after a Mitsubishi and an Audi, picked up a grand cmax 1.6 tdci zetec and I'm loving it, I was a bit concerned at first with it only being a 1.6, but pleasantly surprised, quicker than my 1.6 petrol Audi I part ex'd. Looking forward to reading bits and bobs and picking up some knowledge. Cheers.

  17. Only way to find out is try and get quotes. 19 y.o. plus mods is usually a flag raiser for any insurer though. It might be worth getting quotes without mods then calling the ones you are interested in using to discuss the difference in cost. I usually find declaring mods on the comparison tools costs more than having it added manually.

  19. Bought my second Ford after the pretty solid and "nippy" First Car KA Mk1 and haven't really joined a club for my new Fez since now looking forward to gaining some insight into the community, modding and fiestas in general I drive a Fiesta Black Edition 140ps and considering everytime I leave it I can't stop turning around and looking at it so must be the right car for me! -Connor

  21. Anytime other than maybe 1am to 4am is going to be busy imo. It's the M25 and Heathrow. I've never seen it quiet in daylight. Obviously rush hour it just becomes a car park like most of the M25.

  22. Thanks Dal I just clocked 6000 since I got mine in December but it's my daily driver so about on target for my usual 12k a year although summer drives out might boost that a bit. Still loving it, makes me smile every time I drive it and still keep looking out the window at it on the drive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk www.tomholroydphotography.co.uk

  24. WOT, lol. quotemehappy is Aviva. Every major insurer is on comparison sites in some shape or form, even if they say they're not. Check the underwriters. More important than the brand it's sold under.

  25. Just get on the A43 and follow the brown tourist signs for Silverstone circuit this takes you to the main entrance. Make sure you follow the signs for club stands not public parking. I'd aim to arrive as early as possible as it gets very busy gates open about 6.30 but you have to be in by 8.30 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk www.tomholroydphotography.co.uk

  27. As has already been said. The USB port that is supplied with the car is limited by the USB1/2 specification which stipulates a maximum of 500ma. Most phones require a minimum of 1000ma to charge successfully. No matter how many times you take it to Ford, this WILL NOT CHANGE IT. Get a proper car charger. The USB port on the dash will play music from a memory stick yes, as will the one in the centre glove box. The centre glove box USB port will not allow play from an iPod, however the front one will.

Haha, yh toke ages just lining them up to fit right not much room on the single skin bonnet and didn't want to cut into the second skin area haha and already coated them last night with carbon collectives wheel sealant with plenty of coverage should keep all dirt brake dust etc to a min and should just mean a quick pressure wash to clean them but atm before they go on they are spotless!! I'd lick them there that clean haha

  35. Thanks guys for your replies! Commencal I've never really thought about putting spacers on the wheels? have you done this yourself and does it look good? it's definitely something i could look into, once i have found the right alloys! lol Stoney thanks for your reply too! both of you had the same idea about coming up with a bracket of sorts to reach out to the fixing points and my thoughts were like you mentioned that they must of sat further back because of the rear boxes on the original ST's exhaust being there taking up more space. Your idea makes a lot of sense, basically creating two strips to reach out from the original mounting points to the new ones if that's correct? and then fixing a nut and bolt from the bumper to the new strips for an even more secure fit?

  41. Do you have long skinny fingers? I managed fine without removing anything mate. Just attach the screw to the badge, feed the plate through the grille and onto the screw. Then pinch the nut with two of your fingers and align it with the screw. Then just keep turning the s badge until the nut tightens enough. Was fiddly to be fair but I managed fine without removing anything

  43. Good Lord!! That's almost my monthly income, quite literally. Wages down there must be a lot higher for that to be affordable. For £1,000PCM here you could get a 6-7 bedroom detached house with driveway, garden and garage.
