Well tonight I am feeling pretty pleased with myself. I have fitted a reverse camera to my mkV which apparently Ford said couldn't be done! Well I managed to do it for less than £30 and it works like a charm. Comes on as soon as reverse is selected and shows on the screen of my Sync2. I did have someone giving me guidance via text but otherwise it was a solo effort. A fair amount of work but now it's done it is well worth it[emoji3] Anyone else done this? I haven't done yet, I will be doing that though. I've taken some pictures along the way. I have the hatchback but I do have some information about doing it on the estate as well. The only thing missing, as it isn't OEM are the the white lines that move with the direction of the steering wheel. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk3 points

I recommend you go on kwikfit website. Punch in your car details and find batteries and at least 2 will show up. I got mine from them and it's been bob on excellent. I went for 2nd of 3 for my tit x sport ecoboost mondeo. Booked it in online and they fitted it and a 5yr g/tee plus £25 off a service should I take it there.2 points

If the car battery is 11.2v it's toast. A healthy battery that's rested over night should be 12.7-12.8, AGM's maybe a bit higher2 points

Hi everyone This is my little Courier van, I chose this as it is the perfect size for my business requirements, originally looking at Caddy vans, all the ones I looked at were damaged and just not in a clean condition. I saw this advertised at my local Evans Halshaw (Hull) and went for a viewing and test drive, it's the 'Trend' model with the 1.6L engine which I hear is rarer than the 1.5, no idea if that's true. Absolutely delighted with the van, drives just like a car 👍👍 Modifications so far: • 18" Team Dynamics 'Imola' alloys • lowered 45mm • Tinted windows (Light) • Tinted side and rear indicators • 'Team Heko' wind reflectors • Upgraded LED daytime running lights • Fiesta ST interior foot pedals • Black gel overlays on Ford badges • Chrome door latch covers =============== Tons of things yet to be done, including full colour coding which is up next, along with fitting a front lower spoiler from an ST once the bumper has been painted. Here is the van at the dealers: Once home the first thing I did was tint the side and rear clear lenses along with upper brake light: I then fitted chrome door latch covers which I think is a nice touch: The windows were tinted, wind deflectors etc were fitted then I recently added the alloys and a good friend dropped the suspension for me. I spent hours and hours researching what suspension would fit perfect, there really isn't a lot on the net about these vans so I've had to put some hours in to find out the info. Here is the van as it currently stands today, I've blanked out the rear sign writing as I'm sure this would be in the rules of the forum? Hope you all like the progress so far, colour coding up next.1 point

Yeh this video has the Euro RS with the 'option pack' but no mention of the Carbon Interior trim, or Race Red colour. Glad the exterior trims are matt finish, they look glossy in the US reveal video. If this pack goes with all colours I'd love to see it on Magnetic.1 point
-
Europe gets it via an option pack so its better really as it's not limited in numbers.1 point
-
apologies, I was wrong on the MOT aspect. I knew the catch had to work but I thought it meant to secure and unsecure it . But having re-read it, I agree it just mentions secured in the upright position1 point
-
Evidently the limited edition RS is only for N America 1000 to USA and 500 to Canada. Maybe Europe will get its own version which as said could be a wrap like the mk2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk www.tomholroydphotography.co.uk1 point

With just about everything going electronic and frequently wireless, it's about time some bright spark sorted these oddities. I googled the problem and found hundreds of people having the same problem and of one person who, like you, left his camera on motion detect only when he returned he was unable to unlock his door!1 point

what does best mean? sounds the best, looks the best, lasts the longest before rusting away, the cheapest, makes the car go fastest? please elaborate. i had a mk6.5 fiesta 1.6tdci zetec (not zetec s) and there were three different exhausts on those during the three years the car was made. So I am not sure if that complicates it for you or if all three were fully interchangaeble anyway. type 1) two silencers type 2) still two silencers but the rear one got bigger or changed shape , type 3) the same rear silencer as type 2 but the other silencer was done away with. Mine has type 3.1 point

whilst not all that likely, could the servo be not working as good as it should? we don't know what fuel or engine size you have. Diesel would have a vaccuum pump for the servo1 point

The new one will be Sync 3 instead of 2. Not sure if that will make any difference...1 point

have been a quirky car enthusiast for a while now..... and most recently (last 10yrs) a smart car fan (ducks) went from a VX220 to a highly modified fortwo to a highly modified BRABUS forfour a month back someone rear ended my BRABUS and its in the merc repair shop but its taking ages and i've beed driving the inlaws jag x-type 2.5 v6 awd auto and apart from the fact it does 18mpg around town they want it back! so am going to look at a blue streetka tomorrow to gap the next month (or 2) until the BRABUS is back on the road. hoping its gonna be ok as i've already bought a wind deflector and a cream leather interior for it. Hopefully I won't be walking into a lemon (given its ropey mot failure rate) but hey ho it has 12months on it. the forfour is a hugely reliable car with so few faults across the owners so i'm a tad worried about jumping back into ford (last was a capri laser 1.6 hahaha) ta JJ1 point

UCDS is top for modifications i also recommend it :) but i also understand that not everyone wants to spend approx. 95 Pounds on this cable.1 point

It wouldn't affect travelling south over the crossing, since the toll booths were removed its usually free flowing at 50mph which is the limit for that road, only been held up once going over the bridge and that was last week due to a breakdown on the bridge, the tunnel gets held up as they close one bore off when they have enough tankers to convoy through, during rush hours it then can't cope and queues back to the M2 at least.1 point

I live on this stretch of the M25 (sandwiched between the M25, M4 and M3) and it's not always busy - use it enough to know! It is however quite often pot luck and there doesn't seem to be any real reason for it to be so variable. You should be OK if you get to Heathrow by 3.00pm as you will be between the lunchtime and evening rushes. Maybe even 4.00pm and you will be OK if lucky. I was on it last week at 4.30pm and it was crystal clear around Heathrow. But any issue on the trunk roads into London (A40, M3/A316, M4/A4, A3 being the main ones you will encounter), and you will get more people staying on it going on until the next road in. The worst part in my experience is between Heathrow/Staines and Chertsey because you get it going from 4/5 lanes to 3 at the M3 junction. It's almost always busy here. But clear the Chertsey junction and it usually frees up again. The Hertfordshire stretch (coming up to the A40/M40) may also be a bit of a problem as although they have widened to 4 lanes, I believe it still squeezes down to 3 for the junction. If you go for Dartford, don't forget to do the DartCharge thing. And it can be very congested around the M20 and M26 section - especially if operation stack is in place. Get caught in that and you may as well have your holiday in Essex! I imagine this being a problem area next week with people coming back from the channel tunnel and Dover. So I personally would go via Heathrow.1 point

Best programme out apart from IDS is UCDS i have it and you don't have to mess with Hex values as its all in plain text :) i added climate control to my sync 31 point

It's always worth putting in your From and To locations into Google Maps and setting the your Arrive by/Depart at times and the date to get an idea of the traffic flows. If you're traveling on the 7th June (next Wednesday) then it's going to be a normal working day and schools should be back (at least in Kent) so arriving anytime around 3pm on the M25 would be the beginning of the school kick out times and evening rush.1 point
-
At that time of day either should be fine, schools are off so traffic is slightly lighter. After 3 you should expect to have some delays, sometimes you can go from M4 to M3 at a steady 50 others it's stop start. which road are you coming down? Don't know which part of Yorkshire but I'd use the M11 then M25 via Dartford if it was me.1 point

Might be better to sit tight on the mods for a few years. Probably cheaper to insure a stock ST. Worth a look though, you never know. The odd mods I've done have never cost me any more. I didn't really start until I was 21 though.1 point
