  2. That is release shot of the mk 4 ST line with a set of mk 3.5 ST alloys photo shopped on to it. That’s just a render of what someone thinks it looks like I would suggest.

  4. Watching a program at the moment about costs of driving. Funnily enough they had 'Mr loophole' on there the guy who helped Beckham not having to pay his speeding ticket. Something which I like him saying is he doesn't like the use of speed cameras as he says it's the inexperience / people messing about who have accidents than people going just over the limit. He says that people who are going along there day to work will drive appropriately. Sad thing they started mentioning is death of young children from cars. A 17 year old was driving his car when someone cut in front of him which caused him to swerve and crash killing him. The other driver sadly couldn't be traced. His mum was begging the council to get something down at that junction. Thankfully they reduced the limit from 60mph to 40. There was also a talk about why there should be warning letters when someone commits an event before fining them if they commit it again. What they said was they won't know if it's the same owner of the car or new owner that could commit the offence so makes it hard to know.

  5. Ok iv put a new light bulb in the car and went to the garage and asked them to confirm what brake pipes need changing and they said its the metal pipes and not the flexi pipes, they said if they do the work it's £75 per side and £150 to check and fix the problem with the ABS fault.

  8. As above not new to Ford having owned a focus st250 and other cars, today has seen me put a deposit on a 2015 focus 1.0 ecoboost, a slight change from my current car a Jag XF 3.0d, wanted to reduce my outgoings and do a lot more town driving now so a change was needed, loved the test drive and felt the car was perfect for my needs, not got a delivery date yet but have started looking at what upgraded alarm to purchase for it Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

  9. I've kind of had a thought about getting into riding a motorbike. Only thing which stops me is the fatal accidents or severe injuries I hear people have. If I did ride a bike I'd probably drive in 30mph roads.

  11. Thanks guys for the replies as I said I wasn’t sure if this was a final version or even real.I actually hadn’t noticed the chrome until you mentioned it, I’m sure I got this from autocar. Well guess we will just need to wait and see what the final car looks like.

  12. I did the update yesterday from v2.2 to v3.0. The file has about 2.7 GB. Download it to your PC and unzip it into your PC. You should have only 3 files ( Sync my ride folder with 8 folders inside, autoinstall.Ist and DONTINDX.MSA) and that's it . The usb needs to be formated to exfat and to have at least 32 GB just to be sure. (i RECOMMEND HAVING A usb WITH SOME SORT OF LIGHT INDICATOR). Open it and drag and drop the 3 files into the USB without doing a folder or anything. DO NOT try to unzip these files. I will post a photo so you can see. After it's done, safe remove the usb and go to your car. Unplug and disconect all your devices, usb cables, usb with music, turn off bluetooth, and in the menu turn off auto updates. START the car and when the screen is fully on plug the USB into the car. THE UPDATE HAS TO BE DONE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. If you have a light indicator on your USB you can tell when it is working. On the screen you will see a prompt after about 2minutes just be patient. After about 5-8 min the system will reboot. When the system will restart, if you turned off automatic updates it will tell you....AUtomatic software updates ...or something like this, and you have to press NOT RIGHT NOW...do NOT press yes or no. AFter this it will continue to install. It will finish in about 20-30 min. When it is done it will say finished instalation or along this lines. You are done. Remove the stick turn off the car, get out, lock the car, wait about 2 min, enter the car and start the sync 3 and check the update version to see the version. Then go back to your pc, insert the usb and enter on fords webpage https://www.ford.co.uk/owner/resources-and-support/sync-bluetooth/update#/ and press I have successfully instaled the software and it will ask you for a folder that sync installed on your usb in SYNC MY RIDE folder. On the bottom there will be a new file with your vin number at the end. That is the file. Job done.

  14. Have you tried the obvious and checked the aerial is connected properly? Also some aftermarket head units will require an aerial adapter

  15. looking good and looks like the steering wheel wheel came up good.

  16. Yeah my air con does the exact same thing, low speed and low load i notice it sometimes. My car has done it since new and is normal, louder than what the 1L used to be i had before.

  18. use the elm to read the fault codes mind you with the fun you've had probably a list of rot to mislead... you could try to wipe … then hope it starts, then fails and you read one short list of pertinent faults. without a pointer to where or what's at fault I think you are burning time and unlikely to get anywhere

  19. Thanks 1979Damian For the reply mate. I understand a lot more than I did before. I guess more research is need to find out about the rules on leds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. as above, I would urge all to have their own code reader. less than £15 for one which does not have own display on (so use with laptop etc). One of the annoying things with the way a car stores fault codes, it does not store dates the codes appeared. So if you see 5 codes you do not know if 4 are old and one is new etc. So you then have to clear them and drive the car and see which reappear.

  21. Finally coilovers installed. Also replaced both drive shafts, all CV joints and front strut upper mounts. All that made noticeable difference when changin gears. Nice looking good quality. Rear shocks without height adjustment it drops about 20mm. Ride is very comfortable. Comparison before / after Enough clearance for bad roads or bumps but needs some spacers. And bigger brakes...

  22. not difference as you say between them really

  23. the 3 pipes come as an assembly and is easy to fit, you just need a screwdriver to snap off the retaining clips of the hidden end of the small pipes. (its self explanatory when you've got the replacement part to fit in front of you) and a pair of long nose pliers for the hose clip on the turbo. The expansion tank is a push clip, takes 5 min to change simples. Other end of the small hose goes into cylinder head, clip connector, easy to get to.

  26. +1 It only takes 1 caliper not be retracting properly/fully and that little bit of extra pressure of the brake pad being pushed into the brake disc can make a big difference to performance/MPG, especially on the less powerful engines. At the beginning of the year I noticed my MK2 1.8 TDCi felt a bit sluggish compared to normal and the MPG on my regular 1 hour run to/from work had nosedived from 64 MPG to 51 MPG. I'd been meaning to do the calipers anyway (144K miles at that point in time) so 4 replacement calipers later and I was back to 60+ MPG. Other than the car feeling a bit sluggish when accelerating I really couldn't feel any other signs that something was wrong. @mjt advice/suggestion about checking the temperature of each disc is exactly what I used to identify the root cause, it was actually just the rear passenger side caliper that was sticking but the others were of the same age so I ended up doing them all (got a decent deal so it didn't cost as much as you might think). Hopefully your issue is just a sticking caliper as this would be a relatively cheap issue to fix.

  27. Our old Mk1.5 took a mpg hit when one of the front caliper pistons started sticking. The sudden reduction in mpg was the only clue that something was wrong, there was no noticeable effect on the steering or braking, Out of all the work you've done I'd say the brakes are the most likely suspect. One thing worth trying is to place your hand on the wheel hubs after a run and see if one is hot, or warmer than the others.

  28. I'll take that lol! Well glad it was entertaining for you to read [emoji5] Definitely need to have a proper look for some. Struggled with the measurements first off, and some I've seen are almost £80 for a set [emoji88][emoji88][emoji88] I like the ones you've posted though - go with my theme quite nicely! Let me know when your thread is up and I can have a gander at the pics [emoji5] I know what you mean there - being in London, a lot of the places I want pics are on a red route. Double red lines and no stopping/parking at anytime! I'm sure you'll get the shots. Maybe go at night and take a friend... The seats are so much nicer for long drives! Not difficult but just time consuming finding them in good conditions, no rips/tears, reasonably priced and not from Scotland or Plymouth [emoji23] Got there in the end! 29. Plus Haynes manual have been so dumbed down now that they are not worth the paper they are printed on.

  30. The Mk3.5 diesels still get them as proved above, it's only the ST-TDCi that doesn't, I don't think cost is an issue with the ST though. The petrols don't get them as they heat up more quickly but I really can't understand why the diesel ST doesn't. I'd assume they get the same heater box as the petrol models so if Boris can retrofit one to his petrol you probably can to yours.

  31. Well car went back to the dealer at the weekend and the rack was checked etc still making a creaking noise though, especially when going slow and reversing and wheel turning a full circle. Total bill from Ford £786
