I found my rattle - look what Ford left in my seat runner bolt after changing the driver's seat under warranty! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk2 points

Because vehicle has intelligent battery monitor/charging unless you do some long runs battery will never get anywhere near full charge so many features can get disabled eg Auto stop start and also Sync3 when engine not running. Benefits are though that it always saves enough charge for the vehicle to be started.2 points

Whoops! Good thing the kit was only a tenner. This is very good to know. I'll give them a test next. If all's good there, I'll leak test the injectors. It definitely produces less smoke after a quick blast. I'll add this to the list of things to look out for. Cheers!1 point

There's been a bit of a stink about this recently though - If stuff doesn't sell within whatever period Amazon have agreed (or more likely) imposed on the supplier, they start charging big storage fees or dumping stuff if the original supplier can't afford to pay the fees or come and take the stuff back. I'd better be careful what I say about Amazon though - I'm typing this on one of their tablets (which is actually pretty good), so they can probably detect what I'm typing and may send a hitman! π1 point

You'll find a lot of products on Amazon are 'fulfilled' by Amazon, even if it appears to be sold by the company themselves. This means there's no work for the company to do (so no picking and packing costs) as the product is stored at an Amazon warehouse ready for distribution by Amazon staff. Amazon also have better deals on postage making it cheaper than smaller businesses could manage. This is why you can buy things on Prime and have them arrive within 20 seconds of ordering for free lol. I also find ebay is usually cheaper than a businesses own website as well, I can only assume this is because of the sheer volume of sales they get through ebay. Unless it is a similar warehouse scheme, a bit like drop shipping, where the products are dealt with by someone other than the company themselves.1 point

On my mk6 fiesta zetec s 1.6 diesel the next day I bought it I noticed it would start up rough, chug a bit of smoke and run lumpy until it was driven for a bit were it ran normal. Changed the glow plugs as I thought it might of been that which caused these symptoms. Changed all 4 glow plugs and the symptoms persists. In the end my dad suspected one of the injectors were leaking where it was leaking fuel into the piston which then caused the symptoms. Got all 4 injectors reconditioned and did some cleaning in the engine such as cleaning up the intake manifold. After that the car runs like new. The thing is you said there's increased oil consumption which I'm sure I didn't have. You could get a leak off test to see which injectors may be leaking (if they are) but Peter is more knowledgeable here than me.1 point

I've had my car since October , mine does exactly the same , and like you I do mainly short journeys. It's ok after a decent run , nothing to worry about. The majority of the time I turn autostop feature off.1 point

Completed the cam belt change today on the 1.4 tdci doner car had a few swearing moments. But was the best feeling when it started first time. Bliss. Thankyou so much for this guide just saved me over 400 quid took me about 6 hours in total doing alot of breaking off for dinner, drinks and searching for parts. Bought a 12mm drill bit for the flywheel and grinded it down but still wouldnt fit as I realised some same size drill bits have different size shafts π (wasted 5er) also broke my grinder disk so couldn't cut anything else down to size lol. Luckily after some searching found a bolt that fit so snug. Got soaked in coolant Haha. But I'm now wiser and more confident to tackle the 1.6zs tdci. Cheers guys π1 point

I love our brainy crows that come on our back yard,we live on end house with fields and large trees so a few birds come but the last 3 weeks i have put a tub of water on our shed as well as having a bird bath. 3 massive crows get there bread and dip it in the bath to make it soft, sometime leave it and come back then eat it and go onto shed as deeper tub (3'') and drink and wash. Will have to have a word with them as they are starting on junk food now, french fries and bits of a beefburger as someone dropped some just outside on the road, keeps the pigeons away which is a great thing.1 point

That block is for the seat airbags. There are some on here that have upgraded to heated seats though, so it can be done.1 point
