The Government pass on changing information from so called professionals all the time, it would be the same even if it was Commie Corbyn in charge, At the start there was limited supply of masks and 80% of the country were now sat at home, you saw what happened with bog roll, Also the out-sourced manufacturing to China was a problem, increased production takes time and China turned around ships with decent (3M) PPE for themselves. With distance measures in place and a slow introduction back to work, masks were not essential, now that there are much more people out and distances shrink, the masks should help stop the spread, it's not a case for Mulder & Scully.2 points

On Sync 3 it should go to the last station you were listening to, to save the presets, just press and hold a preset button when tuned into a station.2 points

Masks protect other people from YOUR possible germs/virus etc and NO they don't lower your oxygen levels 🙄2 points

I want to but a 2009 st focus spoiler for my 2009 focus titanium and does anyone know if the 3rd brake light from my titanium will fit in the st spoiler1 point

That's unlucky to have the gland leak after that time. I can understand poorly fitted gaskets but rare for glands to leak like that. The garage won't change the belt and tensioner if the leak is done under warranty.1 point
-
If it was only replaced a couple months back and isn't some cheap rubbish then you only need to change the gasket. Pointless replacing cambelt and tensioner too tbh. Unfortunately the cost won't be much cheaper than a full cambelt and waterpump replacement. It's the labour that mostly costs.1 point

If you have an Android phone and have saved your passwords then you can retrieve them via the Google services and preferences in your settings.1 point

My App was playing up as well. Tyre pressures completely disappeared and the Fuel report had no data for about 3 months, never had a problem with oil life though. To fix it I Force stopped the App, cleared the Cache and Data, restarted my phone and everything works perfectly now. You do need your password and username to sign in again though. Deleting the App and reinstalling should have the same effect.1 point

Your correct, tyre pressure is missing, but was there before, it's a win and lose situation with FordPass The shield with a 2 in my my Extended Warranty. I bought the car second-hand with 2600 mile on it from ford direct, and as part of a Ford Direct sale you get 2 years warranty 2 year unlimited mileage warranty 2 year Ford Assistance – roadside recovery 30 day exchange plan Comprehensively reconditioned to Ford standards Identified by a tamper proof hologram 3 Day Driveaway insurance National Mileage Register and HPI checked1 point

It seems very difficult to get a clear answer on this one. As I mentioned on the coronavirus thread, my brother in law has COPD and has been explicitly told by his GP and doctors at the hospital clinic not to use one. He does use a perspex visor at work which is no problem. Just to add further confusion, at the start of the outbreak, he specifically asked his doctors if he was ok to go to work (he's classed as a key worker) and was given the nod, so has continued working throughout. Last week, out of the blue, he received a letter from the NHS stating he had recently been identified as at risk and must shield until 1 August!1 point

Sounds like tyres, swap wheels front to rear to see if the wandering moves.1 point

Thanks, but cannot find anyway to scan for stations like an ordinary DAB radio. Nothing in settings and using the Forward scan button does not find new stations. Perhaps someone who has SYNC 3 can help?1 point

In the dash menu you can select the light bias for continental driving. This will set the lens shutters to aim at the right hand side of the road. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk1 point

Hi The ST spoiler brake light is different to that of the titanium or regular focus, Also as preventative maintenance I suggest applying some silicone around the bolt holes between the boot panel and spoiler to prevent a future common problem of boot leak, can happen with any boot spoiler fitted but might aswell do it while your fitting the new one. Theres a guide here: https://www.fordownersclub.com/tutorials/article/24-how-to-fit-a-new-spoiler-on-a-mk2-mk25-focus/ You might also like my guides here to include fitting an ST dash pod and ST Recaro seats: https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/68214-full-list-lennys-guides/ Standard spoiler brake light: ST/ZetecS spoiler brake light: The loom plug is also different and you will need a Male-Male hose connector with pipe for the rear washer jet; if not currently supplied with your existing st/zetecS spoiler.1 point

I'm 100% sure that my Fiesta wasn't ran in like you describe there. Still it doesn't use any oil and engine works like it should. Now driven 116 000 km (72 000 miles).1 point

Sierras had solid "chrome" nuts as did my '98 Mondeo and with anything since, did what Brian did - use Araldite! I always use a 6 point socket (not a 12 point) on them, and a torque wrench when tightening.1 point

The article may or may not be right. If I had read it in a serious engineering publication and it had been peer reviewed then I would pay some attention to it, otherwise it is just one one persons opinion.1 point

I've always run in new engines very carefully. Years ago I bought a new Granada Scorpio 4x4 and ran it in over a period of 5000 miles. I parted with it at 170,000 miles + and it never used a drop of oil.1 point

I think your English is excellent, Ahmed, particularly as we are talking mainly technical matters on here!😃 Every time a similar question is asked, there is a wide range of opinions, as you suggest. For what it's worth, I have always followed the running-instructions on a new engine. Unlike years ago, when you were told not to exceed 30mph for 1,000 miles or similar, nowadays it's very much a matter of driving normally as long as you are a reasonably sympathetic driver. I've always felt it was perhaps more important to avoid labouring the engine at low revs under high load, than the odd short burst of high revs. I would tend to treat a short engine similarly to a new complete one.1 point

Not sure if any of these have been posted here: https://www.thepoke.co.uk/2020/07/16/this-handy-explanation-for-anyone-who-still-wont-wear-a-mask-is-both-funny-and-useful/ This has been spotted at a bank entrance.1 point

Sorry to burst your bubble but without a drop kerk it's not an official driveway and therefore there is no legal requirement to keep it clear. If you're driving over a kerb to enter or leave the drive then it's you that is committing the offence and liable to a £1000 fine if caught. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk1 point
