Found this a while ago from Ford regarding Start/Stop conditions. It may help clear it up for some people:- G0000115.pdf3 points

I often just do a few roast potatoes in a small tray while cooking something else. Then eat them cold next day at work with my sandwiches.2 points
-
On the plus side, you can smell them. At least you haven't got covid then😂😂. Never buy frozen roast potatoes. Only takes a few more minutes to peal a potato and do properly.2 points

Thanks Roger n Tom I thought I will take a multimeter with me and see if I can spot no breaks before I buy, tha't if I can find one.2 points

The 422GW & mount takes up half the windscreen though, plus you've got wires dangling if it's not hardwired...I'd much prefer the Ford one. I use a Wedge cam myself purely for the discretion of it, can't stand anything on the screen. Even get annoyed by other peoples windscreens with their huge phone, enormous sat nav and humungous dashcam taking up most of the screen...with an air freshener and parking pass occupying the remaining free space. I agree that seems very expensive though, I thought it included fitting costs! I reckon this design will be copied and made by a Chinese company for ~£50 soon... I wouldn't pay that much for it. I also wonder if any of the footage/info will be accessible to Ford via Sync and the app...2 points

Already happening in some cases. Saw this item a while ago: Last year UBS started charging its ultra-rich clients a fee for cash savings of more than €500,000 (£449,000), starting at 0.6% a year and rising to 0.75% on larger deposits. And at the Danish Jyske Bank, similar charges apply. I suspect though, that like me, you don't fall into the "ultra-rich" category!😀 Also saw that that same Danish bank were doing a mortgage with a minus interest rate, so you owed less every month. Hard to get your head round - wish my mortgage had worked that way, I was paying over 14% at one point in the 70's!2 points

Just had a phone call from the crash repair centre to say that a tailgate had been sourced and that Ford (Germany) had couriered to them. About ***** time.2 points

This week, I had the two year service, and the five year service on our two identical Focus Ecoboosts. £225 each. Two year service has pollen filter change and wheels off. Five year has neither. So Ford concoct a HIGHER labour cost for LESS work on the five year, to fiddle the bottom line. Equally annoying is screenwash being itemised for the first time (at £5 plus vat, for a top up ... yep, the stuff we buy a gallon of in Tesco for two quid). Mine was to the brim, when I took it in 😡1 point

I did manage to update to F9 maps and uploaded the xml afterwards and got the confirmation that I was all up to date. Checked the Sync site to make sure and it's still offering me the map update. Ford servers must be very busy.1 point

Some reasons already given earlier but could be because by now there's probably tens of thousands of owners in Europe all wanting it at the same time .1 point

Hi everyone. I experience the exact same problem with Alex.S. I updated this morning (around 10 am if it matters) from 3.3 to 3.4 and I uploaded the log file. All went smoothly and now my car runs Sync 3.4. But when I check for the maps update, even though I have a notification that there is an update available when I click on it says “up to date “. My car now has the F8 maps and I am waiting for the F9 to be released. Any thoughts why this is happening?1 point

That stick on screen heater I mentioned on the other thread may not be such a bad idea - pretty cheap anyway. Might even be able to bodge up a repair of the existing screen using bits of it. https://www.holden.co.uk/p/screen_heater_12_volt1 point

This is what annoys me with things like this. Installed the update last night and did the XML file upload, still no maps update even though it tells me there is one in my Ford account. When I click on it, it just tells me that my software is up to date and doesn't check for maps. Yet yours happened straight away.1 point

You can find below the steps needed to replace the mirror indicator bulbs/ remove the housing on a mk7 Fiesta. The process is pretty simple, takes about 10 mins and only needs one person and a screwdriver. I was removing the cover to replace the bulbs with chrome ones but the same process applies for pretty much any work you want to do on the mirrors. The reason I have written this guide is that whilst the process is simple it does require you to apply a fair bit of pressure to plastic parts which is always a worry if you don't know exactly what you're doing. From my experience the job doesn't endanger your mirror glass as you pretty much leave that alone and you're most at risk of snapping one of the plastic clips on the housing. On the up side though they all seem surprisingly sturdy so as long as you're careful you will be fine. Step 1 Step 2 Step 31 point

I think it's caused by people cleaning the inside of the window with the same scouring pad they're just about to use on the paintwork... It's also possible that tint film had previously been applied and took half of the element with it when removed. I agree it's not a perfect solution, but it's the cheapest and easiest one that I can see. Unless a roof tile blows down and smashes the window so he can claim a new one on the insurance...1 point

I mentioned the repair kits with conductive paint on John's other thread, but I agree, doubt they'd work if you have multiple breaks in each bar. Difficult to describe, but I've had them where there is no discernible break, but it's as if the top layer of the element had been abraded, possibly by something being carried in the boot above parcel shelf level. That would be very difficult to spot.1 point

I did look at this before - the one thing which put me off is it seems to use Fords app sync feature which as far as I know means you need to disable Car play / Android auto which sort of put me off looking into it any further - be interesting to hear from anyone who has bought it to see if there’s any way round that1 point

It’s the link I was offered by the Ford site. Its Fords CDN on Microsoft’s azure cloud.1 point

Just done my update, 35 minutes from inserting the stick to success message. Just uploaded the xml file so will wait a couple of hours to see if map updates show up. For information, I downloaded the update on my Samsung S9+ using a program called ADM (downloads faster than samsung imbedded file manager and supports resume if pausing downloads or packet dropping occurs), transferred to a 64Gb exfat formatted stick and straight to the car and no dramas, a pc was not involved at any point. Finally got it updated. Says there is a map update in my Ford account but just says I'm up to date. Does it take a while to show up?1 point

It was just over £150 with customs fee... Easy to say £40 harness but no one selling em and time and labour for someone to help would probably be much more. Either way I'm happy, could have bought a pioneer or alpine screen but wheres the fun in that.1 point

I gave way to my old MK3 Focus at a junction today...that was a weird experience! 10 minutes later I passed my old Vectra C parked on a verge! (That car certainly gets about) In other news, the Golf is for sale if anyone's interested...preferably someone that lives further than 5 miles away...1 point
