  3. I do like checking my email this afternoon to find a dispatch email from Argos for my PS5. DPD are the couriers and will deliver tomorrow. I also like getting a courtesy phone call from Curry's to say that I can go tomorrow and collect another 2 PS5's which were pre-ordered in store.

  5. I have a Ford Fusion 1.4 Petrol 2006 and recently i have had an issue with some erratic voltages followed by warning lamps on the dash and electrical problems with the indicators, wipers and speedo. I have done a little research into the problem, along with using an OBD scanner to highlight any fault codes. I have decided to replace the alternator as i believe the voltage regulator could be at fault. So whilst i am waiting for this to arrive i was wondering if anyone had had similar issues. I did read up about the ford smart charge system and some have issues with the plug that connects to the alternator causing the smart charge to malfunction. I just hope that the over voltage has not damaged other components, computers etc. Below i have made a copy of the fault code findings with a OBD scanner tool Car Scanner ELM OBD2 DTC report Selected brand: Ford VIN: WF0UXXGAJU5K35970 ============1============== P0030 Raw code: 0030 ECU: Engine control unit Status: Pending OBDII: Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 1, bank 1, heater control - circuit malfunction ============2============== P0500 Raw code: 0500 ECU: Engine control unit Status: Validated and stored in non volatile memory, Validated fault present at time of request, Validated fault has been present during this drive cycle OBDII: Vehicle speed sensor (VSS) - circuit malfunction Ford: Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction; VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR "A" ============3============== P1794 Raw code: 1794 ECU: Engine control unit Status: Validated and stored in non volatile memory, Validated fault present at time of request OBDII: Battery Voltage Circuit Malfunction Ford: Battery Voltage Circuit Malfunction ============4============== P0626 Raw code: 0626 ECU: Engine control unit Status: Validated and stored in non volatile memory, Validated fault present at time of request OBDII: Alternator field terminal - circuit high ============5============== P1632 Raw code: 1632 ECU: Engine control unit Status: Validated and stored in non volatile memory, Validated fault present at time of request OBDII: Smart Alternator Faults Sensor/Circuit Malfunction Ford: Smart Alternator Faults Sensor/Circuit Malfunction ============6============== P0620 Raw code: 0620 ECU: Engine control unit Status: Test has not been completed, Validated and stored in non volatile memory, Validated fault present at time of request OBDII: Alternator, control - circuit malfunction Ford: Generator Control Circuit Malfunction ============7============== P0030 Raw code: 0030 ECU: Engine control unit Status: Validated and stored in non volatile memory, Validated fault present at time of request, Validated fault has been present during this drive cycle OBDII: Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 1, bank 1, heater control - circuit malfunction ============8============== U0140 Raw code: C140 ECU: Dashboard[Archive (inactive)] Status: Validated and stored in non volatile memory OBDII: Data bus, body control module (BCM) - no communication ============9============== U2200 Raw code: E200 ECU: Dashboard[Archive (inactive)] Status: Validated and stored in non volatile memory ============10============== U2197 Raw code: E197 ECU: Dashboard[Archive (inactive)] Status: Validated and stored in non volatile memory

  7. Yep can totally agree. This is my first ownership of a diesel car, and can safely say before every major service I'll be running a can of this stuff through. For ages this car has been a nuisance and this 'snake oil' actually worked. Tomorrow gonna drop the oil and new filter, just so I know it's good after running this stuff today.

  8. Regular servicing should include injector flushing. Preventive maintenance.

  9. I did, the video after the bleeding process was the very start of the procedure. Literally the time it took to go from the key to the front of the car it was running lol. In terms of driving before and after, just look at my previous threads.

  12. Funnily enough, a Mk2 Golf GTi popped up on my Instagram today with a digital dash. Never seen one before! It's just monochrome standard LCD numbers like a calculator but it actually looks pretty cool... I know the Delorean had an LCD Dash as well. We need another word to differentiate between these LCD dashes and the 'iPad' type that can show different colour displays in the same positions...

  13. I’ve received mine today too. still awaiting reimbursement for the 12v Battery that I had to replace. Nearly 2 months.

  14. Cars have had LCD digital dashboards since the 1980’s, not sure who did it first, though obviously they look incredibly dated!

  20. Hi Ian, I just got my new wheel trims back from the body shop today. I have a contact there who gave me a heads up that they had a set of alloys in for refurb and were doing them gloss black, they added my trims to the job so they got properly sprayed in lovely shiny gloss black, and then oven baked! (just like Brexit LOL) I couldn't be more pleased, thank you again for reaching out to me!

  22. Well, no harm in signing it anyway if you feel strongly about it. I've always thought it was preferable to write to my MP (with a reasoned argument as to why you think the policy is not right, rather than just "I don't like it!" 😃). At least you should get the courtesy of a reply and in most cases I've found both my current MP and his predecessor pretty good and they have raised the issue with the relevant minister, either in writing or a question in the House, so at least you feel they've done some work for you. I did once get an amusing letter from my MP on an issue I'd raised with him. He enclosed a reply he'd had from the minister concerned (which happened to be Chris "Failing" Grayling) and my MPs letter made pretty clear what he thought of it (which was not a lot!)

  23. The Puma test drove a few weeks back had a full digital display. No analogue dials etc. I liked it, the Mrs hated it!

  24. I notice one of the local filling stations (which is also a mini M & S food store) has installed a couple of charging points, but again, people are usually only in there for a few minutes, so no time to charge up. And they've put the chargers on the normal parking bays so if someone's charging you can't park, unless you block one of the fossil fuel pumps. Not fully thought through, imo!😃

  26. This is the kind of anarchy that occurs if white socks are allowed... Have you guys noticed the VW charging points at Tesco stores now? It makes sense in the large Extra store where you might spend 30+ minutes and can even have your dinner in their cafe. But they've also fitted one outside the Tesco Metro...how long can anyone spend in a Tesco Metro!?

  27. I must admit. I rely on the digital gauge, and don't bother with the analogue one. It's quick and easy to read. I drove a Mk 7 fiesta courtesy car and found it strange looking at a dial again.

  28. Now you see, that's where our opinion differs - rarity often creates higher demand and with that higher prices. In car purchasing terms, I am a bottom feeder. All you guys splashing out £30,000 now on a new car, god bless you, because in 10/15 years, I'll be in the market for it as testament to my current 15 year old car shows. Nothing to do with saving the planet (which admittedly I could care less), simple one of cost. There is NO way I could afford a battery car, and as for running out of charge on a motorway, will be intrigued how the AA/RAC man gets to his van and produces a gallon of electricity to get you going again. This morning, I filled up in about 4 minutes which will take me another 250 miles+ almost 40% of car owners currently don't even have access to an outside space in their home to charge their car! Batteries simply cannot be recycled, and cause horrendous green issues themselves in the mass mining of Lithium. I am a fan of 'Hybrids' (which will be banned), and hydrogen cells (which isn't even on government agenda) Still, if we get another virus that kills us all off, it will be a mute point...

  37. I don't like taking our nearly 14 year old black lab on her final trip to the vet! She's been going downhill pretty rapidly the last couple of months, dementia, blindness, deaf etc etc but last week she had 'an episode' took her to the vet where they thought she had had a stroke-type thing. A couple of injections and took her home. Had to take her back the next day as no improvement, wobbly on her legs, no appetite...... black lab remember, another injection. Over the next few days things didn't improve, so after discussions with the vet today it was decided that her quality of life had decreased to a point where it wasn't fair to keep her going. I was nominated to take her down and I was doing ok until, just before the vet lifted her out of the car, she looked around at me! I'm not ashamed to say I was a blubbering idiot for a couple of minutes! I've had a couple of pints now and I think I've got my composure back! RIP Lula
