MrRedman
Hi all i seem to have a squeaky alternator can i spray it inside and out with wd40 or will this cause it to break?? thanks.
jeebowhite
Its more likely to be a pulley thats squeaking than the actual alternator. By applying WD40 to the inside of the alternator, it probably will break it. Your most likely going to need to replace the pulley, since applying WD40 is more likely to let the belt slip than fix the problem.
johnH
dont spray. as jee says it will cause more problems than sense. check your pulleys, belt condition and tension.
