Wasnt about back then but so wish i was, my mate has a mk1 that he is going to restore and looking at it, it is such a simple straight forward motor to have. I'll keep dreaming till i can get hold of one.

I HAD A MK1 BACK IN THE 80,S WITH A 1640 ENGINE ON A 1100 GEARBOX ,CAR WAS ORIGINALLY A 1100 CC ,DRUM BRAKES ALL ROUND , GREAT FUN ,EASY TO MAINTAIN,HAD A COUPLE OF MK 2,S AS WELL ,1 OF WHICH HAD HAD REAR DISC CONVERSION,,AND A 2000E BOX ,HAPPY DAYS ....PJ1
