hillmangimp
I've never used any branded engine oil in any of my cars and I've done ok so far. I've used car manufacturer own brand and Halfords engine oil (when they have offers on). These oils are made by one of the larger oil manufacturers that are rebranded (i.e. Ford, GM etc.) Just make sure the oil you buy meets the Ford spec. For me the key of engine long life is not the brand of engine oil you use but the frequancy of oil changes and making sure they are done regularly. rob80
cheers.il nip in the local ford dealers to have a look.the best solution seems to get ford oil as like you say,its deigned for the car.i understand with the regular oil changing.iv always been good on previous cars with regular changes.especially as most have been diesels
bottletree
I usually go for the magnetec oil when i had petrol engines. It stuck to the engine when you switched off so you would do less harm to it when restarting from cold. Its the blood of the car and if you give it good blood it will give you longer miles imho
