does the eml flash when this happens?,it could be many things from a blocked fuel filter to a cam/crank sensor without inspection its hard to say.

I have just put my ST220 into the garage with the same problem, the engine management light came on but they could'nt find a fault so they have asked a Fors specialist to come and look at it and i am awaiting an answer, as soon as i get one i will post the findings.

if the eml came on there should be a fault code in the ecu.

Now a ford specialist has found the fault and confirmed why the engine light came on, there was no code because the fuel pump had a fault and it caused a drop in pressure with the fuel flow, which in turn made the engine show a fault but without a code as there was'nt one. My advice would be to get it checked, what have you got to lose.

Hope it helps.

Probably a bad ECU I'm afraid!

got my mondeo back today and all is well again, the fuel pump was fixed and now there are no power issues, in my case there was no fault with the ECU.
