Hi. Recently on my 2005 new shape focus zetec there has been a knocking noise coming from the rear when turning a sharp corner. I have jacked up but can't see no immediate sign of what it could be. Has anyone got some advice or ideas please.

Thanks

Matt

have you had any of the front springs replaced? reason i ask if only one front spring was replaced instead of two the rear coil spring will rattle around also check the rear spring has a rubber isolator sleeve on the bottom where it sits in the cup other than that check the rear upper bushes dont move and or are perished

I will try all of the above. Fingers crossed I can sort it rather then taking it to a garage. Thankyou for your replies. Much appreciated.

i had it on mine ford checked everything from alignment to bushes springs etc etc and found nothing the only thing was i had only replaced 1 front spring and on the wporn spring side on the front ie the drivers side if turning hard left the weight was transfered to the front the newer spring was pushing up the worn spring was compressing and the rear pass spring rattled slightly for the knock its usually the upper arm look under the side of the car for a large arm bolting up to the car floor this is the bush that wears and causes side movement it takes a lot of force to move it so might not be obvious from pulling at it youll see the bush andf a bolt going through it if the rubber has seperated from the metal they need replaced not a home job so i wouldnt even attempt it if it is

i'm not sure you did mean focus mk2 or not, if so it is better you check from the photos here, http://fordclub.net/module_view.php?mod=webboard&fn=view&cid=63764&sh=%BB%C5%D2%C2%A1%D1%B9%E2%A4%C5%A7

( it better than i explain by poor eng. :P )

You can see pic. of my reply no. 7/13 , with the red circle. This is one cause of knocking.

I am not sure whether it has had a new spring fitted. In the few months I have had the car I haven't replaced one. I am going to put it in for a service in the new year so hopefully they will sort it out.

Thanks for your replies.
