billyb
My 1994 Fiesta failed on emmisions (CO 1.26 HC 2.44). The garage said the next thing to try was a new cat & lambda sensor. Would this definitely fix the problem or is there anything else that could be causing the problem. Also is it fairly straightforward to fit a new cat & sensor or are any special tools needed? Many thanks
mintalkin
the most commom fix would be a lambarda sensor and is straightforward to fit

But does that mean that it could be just the sensor, or it could be just the cat. And I wouldn't know which until each was replaced and re-tested? mintalkin
i would go for the sensor first as its a lot cheaper than the cat
Russ
Chances are it's the sensor as they only last a certain number of years.
