Strutter
Yes, but its not like yoru missing much, tho on random raisn its handy if going thru whoers then downpours etc. Dont really think theirs a possible way to retro fit them as the sensors are contained in an extention in teh rear view mirror that incases it on the windscreen. Rogue_Shadow
Really not needed Auto Lights, Auto Wipers ... Auto Drive? :o I say Nay Also would be very hard to retro fit as strutter mentioned. You would need to installed your own sensors and wiring and program those to the car itself. Even if you did pull it off, it would look damn cheap I imagine
sparticus5
I guess it may be quite easy to retrofit, the problem would be the cost though. New rear view mirror + fitting, (pretty sure the new mirror would also come with auto anti-dazzle) new headlight switch + fitting and possibly a new indicator stalk + fitting. (not sure how you turn on auto wipe function on Fords). Oh and they'd also have to re-programming the electrics. Willing to bet you wouldn't get much change out of £800. Had both on my last car + cruise and must say I miss them all on my Zetec S. But unless they were all fitted as standard none of them would be worth parting with extra cash for. And if you have a Quickclear windscreen, you'll need to replace that as well as there's a special one with a gap for the rain sensor to see through. You'd need to replace the wiring loom and try to find some way of getting the GEM reprogrammed by your dealer (who'd probably run a mile rather than risk doing this mod). Sorry, but I can't see this working. It is a bit of a shame the car isn't designed to be more modular (like a PC) so these bits could be sold as upgrades. The number of people on here who want to add this or that feature that wasn't installed in the factory (or came out later like the Sony head unit) there's money to be made for sure...
