Before i tackle this dastardly deed I want to know the best way to get rid of this in case i make an almighty mess of it. Before you ask, Yes I'm positive its chocolate. btmaldon
I have used a steam cleaner in the past for those stubborn stains with some success.
johnH
hot water (to melt/soften the choc) with a bit of either clothes detergant or similar cleaner and a clean sponge pad with the scotch stuff on the bottom. i say clean as when the ceiling dries you dont want the smell of dirty laundry in your car. once you have done the spots you may want to do the rest as you will see clean patches, which may be brought out by what looks like water stains. A concentrated solution of Sodium Bicarb and water, with a few drops of lemon should help to get rid of the cack! plus it leaves a nice smell! other than that, just make sure you try to dry it out thoroughly, When I had the focus valet'd they cleaned the ceiling well with water, and I just opened the rear windows and let the breeze dry it, with a bit of tea-towel action!
