fully focused Posted June 4, 2011 Share Posted June 4, 2011 Put your clutch under load by accelerating briskly whilst in 4th gear uphill. jeebowhite Posted June 7, 2011 Share Posted June 7, 2011 The other option is try to bite the clutch, does it take longer than usual to lift the nose of the car? A good clutch should start to lunge forward, a bad clutch would struggle. Other than that, the old test of heel on accelerator, toes firmly on the gas and just drop the clutch - does the engine stall, or do you get a horrible smell of poor clutch?
