Hi all, i just bought a T-reg Focus and the driver's side electric window won't go up and down. I can hear the lifter going up and down, making a horrible grating noise but the window won't move. Has anyone else experienced this? What was it? and how expensive was it to fix?

Cheers.

sounds like the glass has come off the lifting mechanism? hmm, i would start by stripping the door car off to have a look. at the worst i would say you will need a new mechanism. maybe £25 from a scrappies?

If it won't budge...i.e.,move down, there's a big possibility that it's just frozen. Wait for some sunlight  Or...splash some lukewarm water if you're in a hurry and have to use it(say, going inside a parking area in a mall wherein you have to use your side of the window to access entry).
