Hi guys,

Anyone know a way to make the exhaust pop or crackle? without actually buying or changing the exhaust?

Put a hole in the manifold or before the Cat,

I've got a hole in manifold,

Hole before the cat,

And

Hole in the pre-silencer

She crackle and pops especially when dropping gears and slowing down,

Pit thong, pun, pum , pit thong brrrrr pun pum.

Perhaps I don't appreciate what I've got,

But I can't wait to stop it and get the replacement exhaust fitted.

On a professional note though,

Get yourself a decat pipe and performance 3" back box,

If you fit a decat pipe you can fit Flame kit if you wish too.

Then there's no cat to burn the vapours so your exhaust will spit flames and back fire when you press a button,

Keep your cat for MOT though

Also check out a BeeR rev limiter,

Gives you a volume control box that allows you limit the revs,

Turn it up to 5000rpm then quickly down to 1,000rpm then up to 5,000rpm.

This cuts the revs dumping the air/fuel mix in to the exhaust where you can ignite it using the flame kit :)

makes since martin, my lambda sensor was non existing at the time too so perhaps my experience of crackle and pop is different and not to be followed

Lambda sensor tells the ecu how much fuel to chuck in to the engine,

It sences when there's too much fuel being dumped in the exhaust and the ecu cuts the fuel back,

But without a lambda on an engine that doesn't use a MAF sensor (mass air flow) could blow the engine by premature ignition.

1.25 lol, whys that?

Just wondering,

We all started in something small mate,

To be honest for crackle and pop you need at least a 1.3 engine and a decat

For flames you need at least a 1.5 engine and decat

But for rasp you just need to swap out the back box,

The raspiest muffler on the market is called a cherry bomb,

If upgrading the muffler, upgrade your induction filter too,

It will allow more air through the engine and out the exhaust.

Noise only attracts the cops though,

And never rev a cold engine pal,

Get it up to temperature before revving.

Well its that or a ST 500. However the Corsa seems quicker.

The VXR is 189BHP.

189bhp is good, wasn't expecting it to be over 150 lol

Yeah,

6.8 seconds 0-60

140Mph top speed.

So quicker than a ST (MK6)
