Ok basically im changing the oil thermostat this weekend and its just dawned on me that i'll be needing some antifreeze as it is bound to lose some.

Would this be ok for my 2l tdci 130 (2001).

Cheers.

Probably. There is nothing useful in the 'technical description', but it looks to say something about 'Organic Acid Technology' in the small print, on the front.

if you car is still on the same type of Antifreeze that it left the factory on, it will be the organic acid stuff (should be pink - although, you can probably get pink stuff that is wrong too, as there is no universally applied standard, unfortunately).

The Ford stuff has a rated life of ten years; most other is shorter. The QX stuff mentions 'every two to three years, or 24,000 to 36,000 miles' although the inference seems to be that would be specified by the manufacturer of the vehicle, not of the antifreeze.

Anyway, if you are keeping the vehicle and the current a/f is in good condition, the Ford stuff may be a better bet, because of the ten years. OTOH, if what's in has already got a few years on it, or you know that you'll be flushing it soon anyway, this stuff is likely to be what you want. (Although, if you or a previous owner has changed it over to the older 'inorganic' stuff, you'll want to either flush completely, or stick with the type you've got (probably, but not certainly, blue/green). And, if you don't know what you've got, there is some that is supposed to be compatible with either, but I don't know how they do that.)
