Chaz051
I've got a 2013 Focus Titanium Econectic. which I bought from Ford about 3 months ago. It's done about 15,000 miles. On heavy braking from speed (70mph) there is a warbling noise coming from the front end. Original thoughts were the front discs and pads. These have been changed by Ford. The noise is still there. Its been in now a couple of times and the Ford techs can't seem to find out what's wrong. Its very frustrating, does anybody have any thoughts. Would be really grateful. jeebowhite
so the disks and pads where both replaced? have you checked the callipers are secured?
Chaz051
Yes, brand new discs and pads I'm told that the callipers were checked. The car was back into Ford yesterday, but seems techs can't get the car to make the sound. So I'm to pick up their chief mechanic and take him for a drive once the weather is a bit better. To get the noise to happen I need to accelerate to about 75 mph and then press the brake pedal hard and smooth. However, the noise happens at all speeds when I'm driving normally. I read an item that stated it could be front wheel bearings. The thought was that as there is more load on the bearings under braking than acceleration that's why the noise is only heard when braking. If any body has any thoughts, most grateful. jeebowhite
thats a potential, but the plus side is the fact the car is in warranty.
