Ps4 Vs Xbox One

I sold my Xbox 360 while I was at Uni because it wasn't getting used. I'm now thinking of a comeback to consoles.

I had both a PS1 and PS2 before defecting to the Xbox. Any thoughts?

This is a dangerous topic, lol.

On performance the PS4 wins hands down, but it is more important you get the platform which has the games and player base you want.

I have a PS4, having switched from the 360, but the odd exclusives on Xbone I can play on my PC.

I too have a ps4 having also a PS3, ps2 and also the first psp when it came out, I did have a 360 but my daughters wanted it lol.

Ps4 is a very good machine.

I am tempted to return to PS I think. Online gaming isn't a big concern and neither is voice commands that the Xbox boasts. I like the fact that Metal Gear Solid is available on PS4 too. I played the first MGS on PS1 and Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater on PS2.

Lost touch since turning to Xbox so it will be nice to get back into those games. I must say that Mass Effect was a brilliant series on the Xbox though.

If you are not bothered about the Xbox exclusives, the PS4 is best IMO.

I have had to build up my friends list a bit, but there are are reasonable number of PS players on here.

With the xbox 360 I was the biggest fan boy and so pre ordered the xbox one day one last year after a couple of weeks it all went Pete Tong so after the 360 going wrong all the while I grizzled on the phone to MS and all they had to offer me was a box and a sticker for Germany, so instead I returned it straight to amazon and went for a PS4 back to the dynasty lol, its a better 'games' console and they are catching up in terms of multimedia apps now too, and as much as the tv adverts for the xbox one says we have all the best games, well sony haven't really started yet, and you will be envious of ps4 exclusives next year if you get the xbox, in all honesty though the best way to go for serious gaming is genuinely to drop some money on a pc these days, either way I prefer my ps4 to the xbox that I had.

Sorry for going on!!

I have a PS3 which rarely gets used.

I prefer PC gaming as the mouse/keyboard interface is more intuitive.

Actually just got a new gaming PC and loving it.

My first Xbox 360 died twice and got sent out to MS in Germany - the process actually seemed to work quite well, course they'd had lots of practice by then. First time was the imfamous RROD, the second time the disc drive threw it's hand in. Pretty much ended up with all new internals once they'd finished.

Probably looking at getting an Xbox One over Xmas, depends on what deals catch my eye.

Biggest mistake possible.

Why do you say that? Hadn't thought there was that much difference for it to be that wrong a decision....

Xbone is............... SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!

Get PS4 far superior and actually more content etc than MS now, plus rechargeable controllers.

Nice one. I will hold fire until January to see what the sale offers and also until after the 6th when I find out the budget cut proposals at work.

If my job is ok, it will make a nice treat after all the stress and worry. Cuts, cuts, cuts, cuts icon_evil.gif There will be no !Removed! staff left at this rate.

Would you buy a vauxhall because the xbox one is a vauxhall.

It's not a 2014 spec Astra VXR then? as I actually like the look of those (without actually knowing anything about them)

Will have to do some more research on it all, the PS4's never really been a consideration for me previously.

Look stop sitting on your brains man, this is a simple case of having the thing (vauxhall) or wishing you got the best thing (ford).

It really comes down to whether you prefer the xbox exclusives or the playstation exclusives. Xbox one/ps4 are both good consoles.

Also preference on the controller is a big decision swayer. I wanted halo and prefer xbox controller so went xbox one :)

I've never owned an Xbox... I have a ps3 that doesn't get played purely because I don't have the time - or if I do it's rare, so I'd rather not play games...

The big decision maker for me was free online play..

There are a lot of people that know every spec about each console and how many gigawotsits it has and how fast you can time travel in it, how its so realistic that when your character gets hit, you feel like you've been punched in the face... Etc... For me I first had a ps1, the graphics were so amazing... Until I got a ps2, then the graphics were so much more amazinger... Until I got a ps3 and then the graphics are EVEN MORE amazingerer... So if someone told me the Xbox one was better graphics than the ps4, I'd still probably pick the ps purely because:

A) free online gaming

B) understanding of the system and controls

C) As long as the graphics are better than the ps3, I won't know much difference...

Ps4 is not completely free online gaming anymore.

Still the free games alone easily pay for the sub

£40 a year for PSN same as Xbox Live, It was never going to stay free, Sony just did it to capture clients from MS, once you've got customers then you can rob them, they even made a loss on the PS3 consoles they were so desperate for a decent market share.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm an xbox gamer and love the xbox one! for me Halo and the controller sell it to . but I think both consoles are pretty similar and the games are near identical.

I currently have a friends PS3 so i could play Uncharted and the Last of Us which were superb games.

Fanboys will always diss the other consoles but to be honest theres nothing in it but personal opinion.

As long as you are happy with what it is going to give you, that is all that matters.

I go with whatever is best for me each generation.... eventually getting both when enough exclusives are too good to miss.

Haven't seen anything on XBOne that I can't get on PS4 or PC which takes my fancy yet...

I got a PS4 for Christmas, and I love it! Very annoyed about having to pay for online though, was very close to cancelling it and just having the money. GTA on the PS4 is certainly improved and I love the gaming experience.

Just haven't worked up the courage to spend £11.99 for 3 months of online....

I only ever pay around £25 or less for a year of PSN.

Well worth it though, even just for the free games and discounts :)
