Penultimate stop...

Hi all

Just got an e-mail from my dealer and apparently my car's in Liverpool now. That's the last stop before it gets here in Newcastle. Apparently it's still on schedule for September 1st. He's going to e-mail again once he has final confirmation and a registration number.

On another note, I'm a bit gutted because someone on my estate has just bought a Fiesta. I was meant to be the first on the estate!! I'm not happy about this. Who buys an 09 plate in August?

Ian

For those that this topic does not interest, here is a ninja.

Maybe someone brought it for them - thats even worse though I guess!

And it is only a matter oft ime before they become common anyway - how long can they stay 'rare' when they are the best selling car month after month??

I know, I know. But first place was in sight. I was sooo close!

I'd be pleased for them if everybody on my estate wasn't so stuck up!

Oh well, here's to first 59 plate car!

I'm seeing more and more popping up in Leicester over the last couple of weeks.

I feel like I'm being taunted by Fiestas. Every time I glance somewhere they seem to be lurking in my peripheral vision.

I saw three in one Tesco car park the other day. Not cool. They were giving me this "you know you want me" kind of look.

There are only a few round here at the moment - Black, vision, Colorado and a driving school with a squeeze - however mine is going to be the best looking one . . . . only a few weeks to wait now!

Reel - when did you order if you don't mind?

Reel - when did you order if you don't mind?

I ordered on June 27th.

However, it's a standard build (except for the alloys which are fitted at the dealership when it arrives), so it was already built/being built at the Valencia plant when I ordered.

Why on earth does it take two weeks to get from Liverpool to Newcastle? Stupid stupid stupid.

It won't - it'll be here sooner.

It'll probably arrive some time next week I'd imagine, but I'm waiting until September 1st to get a 59 plate.

Mine's due to the delaers week commencing 31 August - so I just know it won't be until the Friday . . oh well, hopefully there won't be too many 59 plate cars on the road and have got the following week off work to really have some fun with it

I'm really looking forward to driving it. The roads are so bad nowadays. It's going to be nice to inject some fun back into driving with this car.

Also, I love the drive home from the dealership because you always remember it. And you have a huge grin on your face all the way. Also love the first time you fill up at a petrol station - I always seem to remember that too.

My drive home was full of road works :) but my first trip to the petrol station I remember turning a lot of heads, it was sooooo shiny :)

I always find that the 'first' that sticks out for me is the first dent, ding, scrape or scratch

I'll be picking mine up in County Durham and driving it 120 miles to get back home to Dumfries. (If there's only a quarter of a tank of petrol supplied I'll also have to make my first visit to a petrol station before I set off). Can't wait for the journey! (Knowing my luck though, I'll end up stuck in a traffic jam with thirty other brand-new Fiestas ... and probably all Colorado Red the same as mine!!! And when I do finally get home, my brand spanking new Fiesta will be covered in dead flies and grubby lorry spray if it's a wet day!) But I'm still looking forward to it.

The last bit sounds awesome - it means you get to clean it!

My neighbours are going to think I'm nuts - car arrives, car gets cleaned to within an inch of its life

Then of course - pedals, sill plates, badge overlays go on, the Fiesta and Titanium badges come off and the lights get detango'd. Can't wait.

Actually maybe I'll do that the other way round and wash it after taking the badges off...

Too right Paul; especially around the Leatherhead junction which I know quite well as I have relatives down your way.

You never know--one day you might be driving around in your Squeeze just minding your own business--the next minute there'll be a funny looking Hedgepig right behind you!!!!!
