steve67
Hello, we are possibly looking at a fiesta zetec, just a few questions- there seem to be a few good deals around, what would you say is the best engine to go for around town? 1.25 or the 1.0? my son has a 2007 1.25 has the engine been improved? when is a face lift model being released as the current shape has been around for a few years? cheers

MONDEO TXS 2.2
No new Fiesta on the horizon, although I expect a new model soon - ish, the 1.25 engine is tried & tested, although fairly old tech, any ecoboost is modern tech.
10dawson
Don't think a new one will be on the way soon. Spoke to the Sales Manager at TrustFord UK and he said it's the best model they have ever sold - no plans in the next 5 years Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
MONDEO TXS 2.2
There will be a new or facelifted Fiesta within 5 years - irrespective of what some Fraud '' sales manager '' claims. The current body is already 7 years old & Fraud have never produced a U.K. spec car for 12 continuous years without either facelifting or replacing. chrisroberson99
There will definitely be a new Fiesta within 5 years, it's getting outdated compared to the competition and desperately needs a new interior. Go for the Ecoboost, it'll be more efficient and more powerful than the 1.25.
Willy
Definitely the ecoboost 1 liter. Look for the 100 and 125bhp

The fiesta has been will always be a top seller.
chrisroberson99
Ford needs to get a shift on, it's time a new one came out anyway. 7 years is a long time for a car model, too long.

MONDEO TXS 2.2
There's nothing wrong with Ford's 1.25 4 cylinder 80 bhp Sigma engine.
matt1981
If you can afford it, definitely the 1litre ecoboost
Jeff4155
1liter eco-boost gets my vote, but if you got the cash, why not go all out for the 1.6turbo ST
SNC
I test drove the 1.25L, 1.0L ecoboost 100bhp & the 1.0L ecoboost 125bhp. The 125bhp is the best car if you can't justify the ST and are still economy concious. The 125 also felt better than the 100 version for driving around town as the turbo made it easier to build speed and maintain it with minimum use of the gas, much more recommended if you ever plan on taking it on the motorway. The 100 version was a good alternative and may be slightly more economical than the 125 in the long run for just 100% town driving. The 1.25 sadly doesn't compare in the same league as the ecoboost engines and won't be as fast or economical, however the price to buy new reflects that, as it's usually cheaper although you can get some good second hand prices for all versions. cliff1
I traded in a 2012 Fiesta 6 weeks ago for a new one & there are subtle changes to the front end,i wasn't aware of them when i ordered it,the dealer didn't have one in the showroom.I just ordered it because my 2012 had been great,no problems at all. It was only when i picked it up that i was told that the radiator grill had been changed & the headlights, the bonnet now drops down into a surround/casing ,on the 2012 if i remember correctly on the front lip of the bonnetin the centre there is a sort of cut out & when closed it fits over the Ford badge. To look at it from the side the overall shape appears to be the same. The major change to me however is a big one, when sitting in the car, behind the wheel i can't see the bonnet, none of it.I'm not small,i'm average height 5'10".It suddenly hit me after i'd driven it about a mile that i couldn't see the bonnet. I think it's something to do with the layout under the bonnet, some piping & other bits seem to go back under the bottom of the windscreen & into the car if you like, under the facia/dashboard.Inside the car the dashboard/facia semms to be getting deeper from the bottom of the windscreen to the steering wheel. Well thats my take on it,it drives great, solidly built ,no rattles, brilliant drive but for me let down by whatever Ford have done to make the bonnet invisible. I've never come across this before & i've been driving a long time in many different cars.To be honest i don't think that i would have bought it had i been able to sit in it in the showroom.I would have noticed this & it could well have been a deal breaker. Shame really because it drives brilliantly & amazingly to me safely, but i still don't like it. I don't know exactly what Ford have done but in my opinion they have messed up in a big way. My advice, for what it's worth,is to make certain that you sit in one & drive it,unlike me who bought it unseen, something i've never done before on something as expensive as a car. Trewithy
I haven't been able to see the bonnet of any car I have owned in the last ten years, all small cars seem to be like this now. Disconcerting at first but you get used to it.
steve67
called a few local dealers and also looked at drive the deals, drive the deal come in at £11300 for the 1.0 ecoboost zetec 5dr saving £3500. so will try at get the dealer to match.. at the moment he is working out figures for a pcp for me. SNC
Is that the 100 or 125 version? I paid £10750 for 10 months old and 22k 5dr Titanium ecoboost 125 with Parking Sensors. So £11300 isn't a bad price for a new 5dr zetec ecoboost if you can get it at that price, but you ever thought about almost new for some bargains? or are you dead set on a new car? That's pretty shocking that your dealer didn't have a Fiesta in the showroom, the facelift has been out nearly 3 years now!

Phil 87
I also can't see my bonnet but I have my seat at its lowest setting. I think this is just because the bonnet is so short (I can easily reach the Wiper Blades standing in front of the car) and it slopes downwards. Good for aerodynamics but bad when you're trying to get in or out of tight parking spaces.
