Phen0mable
Hi there. Yesterday my indicator sound/beep/click stopped working. I have no idea what to do and I consider this as dangerous. Saw few drivers waving at me in anger as they thought I was going to turn left or right but I was going straight. I can't hear them... Can you help ?? Please Focus Mk II 57 plate diesel 1,6
Dee_82
Can't help there mate, but I find mine are too quiet and the green sucks during the daylight, I think I might try changing the LEDs or whatever they use to something a Little more obvious
WES180
Read about this in a Cmax and it was simply a case of pushing one of the connector blocks back into the fuse box in the passenger footwell. It must have been knocked or just worked loose over time and had lost the contact but still looked in place. Give it a try in yours while youre waiting for more advice.
Phen0mable
OK. I'll nip out in a bit and have a look. I also noticed that cig lighter is not working
Dan P
Can't help with this but the other day I noticed my indicators were clicking at a ferocious rate. After a moment it hit me... having just replaced my bumper, I'd put the headlights back in but hadn't bothered to plug them in! What a muppet!
Micro
OK. I'll nip out in a bit and have a look. I also noticed that cig lighter is not working May be the case that a connector has come loose then, the cig ligher also connects through the multi-plugs
Phen0mable
Right I did open the fuse box inside the car and check all the connections and everything seams to be nice and tight .. I'll get a new fuse tomorrow A20 for cigarette lighter as I think is blown.. Still no click/buzz on indicators ..

Kyde
Hi Phen0mable, Did you solve this problem? I have the same problem and would appreciate the help if you (or someone else) has some idea what to do with it. Thanks!
Phen0mable
No not yet. The instrument cluster is faulty for sure. I had other one connected and everything work correctly. Now the company I want to use to fix my cluster is moving and they don't take orders until 7th of September. They already told me that it would cost from 70 to 120 including post and packing
Phen0mable
I have placed an order just now. I was told that once they receive my IC it should take about 3 to 4 days. I'll keep you posted. Faults that need to be looked at:Bonnet open (constantly on) Indicator clicking is goneWarning beep when lights ON and driver door opened is also gone Speed is not accurate comparing to tomtom sat-nav. Red LED right from digital display is constantly ONAfter locking a car with click on key, display stays ON for many hours RPM arrow and Speed arrow shakes when ignition turned ON
Dee_82
the speed on the ic is never correct, strangely the speed sensor when viewed on forscan indicates the correct sat nav speed
mjt
the speed on the ic is never correct, strangely the speed sensor when viewed on forscan indicates the correct sat nav speed The speedo on my Mk2.5 reads 5mph fast throughout the range and I've come to the conclusion that the pointer is deliberately installed on the actuator that much advanced. Regarding the indicator click I find that on my Mk2.5 it is much quieter than on our Mk1.5. Just another among many niggles I have with it. Dee_82
its a little too quiet for my likes, esp on those rare occasions when it doesn turn off automatically on a roundabout when it normally would and you have music on with the sun on the dash preventing you seeing the green LED. My mates Mondeo has a darker surround which makes it a lot more visible, but the silver finish on ours makes it all but invisible in the sun
IINexusII
would have been cheaper to get a used mk2 or mk2.5 cluster off eBay, making sure the mileage is less than what your's is, and using ELMConfig to swap over the settings and write the mileage upto your actual mileage, and using ForScan to re-program the keys to the cluster. cost me £25 to get a used MK2.5 cluster and elm and forscan are free (after purchasing a £15 cable)
TomsFocus
Lol, the indicators are far too quiet on the Mk2.5...someone needs to add a function on ELMConfig to turn the volume up a bit! :D Also Darren, I think the green 'tell tale' of the indicators is a legal requirement and checked on MOT, pretty sure you can't change the colour legally but I could be wrong. Dee_82
That could be true, ive never seen a car with a different colour indicators. Got a bunch of projects on the go just now but i may look at getting some ultra bright SMDs and try replacing them, be even easier if its just LEDs. actually quite like the look of the Mondeo IC with its large screen and dark looks but I doubt its possible to swap them over,
Phen0mable
my speedo is also wrong by 5mph but not all the time. At low speed and accelerating the error seams to be 2mph. At high speed and slowing down the erros is about 5mph
Phen0mable
quick update: Had a call from them today. My IC is blown and unfixable. Micro chip on PCB works on 25%. They advised me to replace it as it's progressive fault. They only charged me 15 quit for diagnostics plus 10 for postage so I think it's decent. I'm looking for second hand IC. My looks like this:http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_focus_mk2_diesel_instrument_cluster_f_1483717.htmFits Vehicles From: 19-07-2004 To: 26-03-2007My car is 57 plate. First reg Nov 2007. and I'm wondering if it can be replaced with this one http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_focus_mk3_instrument_cluster_assy_f_1673172_c_553.htmFrom 03-12-2007 To 29-07-2011Shape wise is same thing. Ianb
I suspect either the midget with the drumstick has died, or his drumstick has broken....
Phen0mable
All DONE :-)Second hand IC cost me 30 quit at local salvage. Reprogramming it cost me 80 quit plus mileage correction 40 quit. Ford would only do reprogram for 96 quit. Now everything clicks, beeps, buzz etc :D Instrument Cluster repair in London charged me 24 quit for postage and diagnose. They could confirm that main chip on PCB was operating at about 25% and was beyond repair.
