That Guy
So I have all the parts needed to service the Focus. Years ago when I had an XR2i I just tightened spark plugs etc until they were hand tight. Is this still ok with newer cars or would people invest in a torque wrench? I also want to take the Idle Control Valve off to clean, is there a good place to get torque values online for various parts? Thanks in Advance! stef123
To be honest, any one with some mechanical savvy will know roughly by feel when a bolt or plug is tight enough. I never use a torque wrench for applications such as plugs, general nuts and bolts, wheel nuts etc. Precision engine work, hub nuts etc then yes I will.
SeanW
I'm with Stef - guesstimate by hand - you've done it before without problem. Although, I do torque my wheel nuts
