GrannySan
Hi, I've got a 2006 Focus Sport . I want to fit a Sat Nav, but there's no cigarette lighter on the dashboard . How do I overcome this ?
Preee
Do you know anyone who can wire you a direct feed from the fuse box? All mk2 should have a 12v aux socket, do you have an armrest?, usually its by the handbrake
Stoney871
The mk2 only has one permanent live socket in the dash cubby. I make a patch socket loom which can be used permanent or switched live for £15.
GrannySan
No, I don't have anyone who could put me a direct feed in . Mine's a Focus Sport Estate , 2006 . There's an aux socket in the boot , but that's too far back ! I've not come across a aux in the front of the car though .. There's a blank on the dash where I'd have expected a cigarette lighter to be . No central armrest by handbrake .
Preee
Unusual that there is no 12v Aux, someone must have removed it, is it blanked off or is there a hole there.
ScorpionSX
Wait a second, having a blank instead of cigarette lighter doesn't necessarily mean, there's no socket behind it, does it? On ours company cars we have only blanks instead of the lighter, but behind the blank, there's fully functional socket, where I can plug and adaptor I need - isn't this this case too? ... I don't know how it is on the Focus without the "smoker's pack" installed, but as long as you don't have really just empty space behind the blank, there should be working socket there...and just to be clear, we're talking about the one under the stereo dash...right? Stoney871
Even if there's no socket there the wiring should still be present and easy to locate if you remove the kick panel next to the clutch pedal (torx screwdriver needed). GrannySan
Thanks, everyone , will investigate . There's 3 blanks and one tailgate demister under the stereo dash .
Stoney871
The socket (if fitted) should be in the cubbyhole below the demister switch panel.
GrannySan
Stoney871 ..........BINGO ! I'd never have looked there, hidden right at the back ! Many thanks !
