Dave_TDCI
For some time now the petrol/fuel cap on our Focus seems to be stuck locked. I had to break off the cover in order to put fuel into the tank. A few weeks ago I decided to try mess around and stuck my hand in between the interior lining and where the fuel cap was and pulled at some of the wires. To my surprise whatever I did seemed to unlock it and the fuel cap was working perfectly for around a week and a half, both locking and unlocking with the rest of the car. I decided to glue the cover back on since it was working and low and behold the following day it stopped working again. I have tried looking up info about this but there seems to be very little info on the MK2 model Focus Petrol. As we have just got a newer Focus we want to sell this one on but want to tidy it up before we do. Has anyone any tips on how to fix it or even any knowledge on the operation and to why it could be stick? Thanks
Dave_TDCI
Bump...really need advice on this. Had another look again last night, removed the inner trim on the right side in the boot to have a look but to of no avail. I can't even seem to see the motor for operating it. Any help would be really appreciated!
