FRAZDAZ
Morning guys, Ran the wife to the airport this morning and when I went to open the boot it wouldn't open. Tried the key fob and then tried the boot itself no joy. Anyways on further inspection it looks as though she has put a jacket in the boot and part of the jacket (?zip) is stuck in the mechanism. (Based on what I could see from the inside). Question is, is it possible to open the boot from the inside? Fraser.
Flibbib
I'm not sure on how to open it from the inside, but if it's a mk2 / 2.5 (might work on above) have you tried pressing the boot release on the key loads?
WES180
Just rag the jacket out, say the lock must have ripped it!
MrRedman
Press the boot lid down near the lock whilst getting someone else to keep pressing the button 😂👍

Why didn't you put her in the passenger seat instead of the boot then 😁 Happened me twice, Easy fix with the correct Torx bit a TX40 is required along with a flat head screwdriver to get things sorted. the torx but is available from Halfords for a few pounds on its own not as part of a set as saw in image below You need to get in to the boot from the back seat, Temporarily remove two plastic caps from the lower boot door panel, Then stick the Torx TX40 in to both holes to unbolt the lower boot latch bracket from the chassis. Followed by popping out the four plastic retaining plugs which hold the lower boot panel in place then lift the boot door to freedom 🙌 followed by putting it all back together. I can add more detailed images if desired
