mikeodwyer
I have a problem with a 01 1.6 Focus, turning the key she turns fine but she barely starts(like as if she's getting no petrol) after about 20 seconds, when it does start she revs up to about 2000 revs and drops down to nothing and starts spluttering and sometimes cuts out , if she keeps going she sounds like she's missing then evens out and then cuts out again. Any help................... Some first post.....

H3lly
When I start mine the revs go to 1800 - 1900 rpm but then gradually idle at 1000 - 1100 rpm. This is from a cold start and runs fine after that. Maybe she needs a bit of tlc.
andybrad
probably not as its just the automatic choke
InstructorPiggy
probably not as its just the automatic choke yea, likely but that is still over revving....try cleaning that idle valve, looks like it working over time really :)
