Addyad93
Hi everyone I've got a ford focus titanium x and I've had it 8 months now and I've had engine malfunction service now and my car goes into Limp mode and I've had a mechanic out and he said could be the fuel filter and I went back to ford and he said try give it a good run or rev it and try get the crap out of the dpf but nothing coming out of my exhaust. Is there any idea what it could be Thanks
alexp999
If it is a 2016 car a Ford dealer will be able to read the error codes and fix the problem under warranty.
Addyad93
It's 2011 and my warranty finished nd I've had a mechanic and I've had the light up on my dashboard nd he put diagnostic machine in and no codes come up
drsdriver
Your profile says 2016 car !! I would say these cars are prone to getting the fuel filter blocked, Ford only change them every 3 years, but I personally would get it changed every year. When was the fuel filter changed?
Bobby89
Hi, I had this issue a few months back. New Fuel filter solved it. When trying to push the engine a little it wouldn't get enough fuel through which caused a low fuel pressure error which in turn puts it into limp mode. The fuel filters on these (mine at least) seem to be a pig and need changing far more than Ford let on. Cost me about £40 at my local garage in the end. Good Luck! drsdriver
Definitely agree, fuel filter are very prone to clogging up. Yearly change for me.
