Noisy brakes

I have a 2014 Ford Focus eco boost navigator.

Just recently the brakes have started making a irritating squealing noise when braking,have had it in to my local garage and they took the pads out and cleaned them up.

 They said mintex brake pads had been fitted which they said they don't know why on a car of this type as they are a harder pad.

They have started squealing again would changing the pads alleviate this problem do you think ?
