MColeman
So I'm getting my roof and mirrors wrapped gloss black and chromes wrapped gloss black too, looking at new alloys after, but it's either black or a graphite grey/ anchracite(however you spell it) and I'm also looking at getting a zetec s black grill, but anyway what do you guys think about alloy colour
MJNewton
Subjective of course but I've never been a fan of pure black wheels. I find that in combination with the black tyre they can disappear making the arches look a bit 'empty' if you see what I mean. With anthracite and other dark-but-not-black colours you can still get the dark effect that looks good whilst still retaining some contrast. Luke4efc
Depends on the colour of the car. Silver, light blue, and grey/anthracite cars doesn't go with black in my opinion. Red looks awesome and white is a bit of a grey area. I like my black alloys on my white car, but they have been powdercoated and look very glossy so stand out instead of giving that "empty arch" look as mentioned above. They are also from a zetec s so there's less metal covering the radius of the wheel meaning you can see the brake disk, making it look pretty cool. Anthracite wheels look good, but weren't enough of a change from silver for me to justify £40 a wheel changing the colour professionally. MJNewton
It's a good point about gloss paint and seeing the discs too. I was perhaps over-generalising about 'black = bad' view. I think it really is an issue of contrast and there's more to that than just the colour as Luke describes.
