HOW TO Retrofit genuine parking sensors to MK3+MK3.5 Focus

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have C-MAX Energi 2013,

originally installed PAM is CJ5T-15K866-AE, and it works (4 sensors on rear bumber,

previous owner installed 6 sensors in front bumber, but not changed the PAM module,

I've tried to install BM5T-15K866-BR (ACTIV PARK ASSIST MODULE),

in forscan i can check that 4 in back and, 6 in front sensors are working correct,

but I can not make it to work correctly - I get 'Check Park Aid' screen od dashboard.

PAM configuration is not available,

I've tried every option in Main Central configuration in Parking assistance,

I changed also the APIM Module configuration, still not working,

there is Sync2 installed.

can someone help if I should update anything else, or the PAM module is not correct for my vehicle?

    The driver still needs to use the accelerator and brake, plus gear select but the car will steer itself into the gap. If you use automated parking the car will tell you when to select ‘reverse’ or ‘fi

You need to check ABS sensor in the rear,yours are probably one direction ones so you have to swap

You need to check ABS sensor in the rear,yours are probably one direction ones so you have to swap them with be be-directional ones,you will need to initialize ABS module.

OK,

they were coded as bidirectional, I assumed they are correct,

now I've checked them visually - they are 'black', not brown as described in this thread,

I will order new ones, and check if that helps.

I have checked the original ABS sensors with diagnostic computer,

and they show speed on wheel if I turn it to front, and also if I turn it to back,

so what is the difference between AV6T-2B372-EB and AV6T-2B372-EA?

if they both show speed in both directions, then why should I replace them?

Nothing.

The very last letter is just a 'revision' code, kind of like a date. The "EB" sensor is one revision newer than the "EA" sensor

How to discover if my ABS sensors are correct for Active Park Assist (bidirectional)?

are 'one direction' ABS sensors show speed only if wheel rotate to front?

in configuration I changed to 'bidirection', and in ABS there are no DTC, so maybe they are correct, although they are black?

Mine are black from factory and when i installed APA all worked fine, i wouldnt go by the colour. If they were incorrect you would get a DTC.

Where can I check if 3M5T-2B372-BD sensors are bidirectional, or not?

Hello, my vehicle is C-MAX Energi,
there are 6 front sensors, and 4 rear sensors,
I've changed rear ABS sesnors to 'bidirectional',

changed ABS Config in DE01:
 Autopark (3-level WSS) to Active,

changed CCC config in BCM:
 59 - Park assistance to Parking Assistance, Front and Rear with SAAP
 203 - Wheel Speed Sensor Type to Wheel Speed Sensor Type With Direction Recognition

config in PSCM
 FD01 - SAPP is enabled
 FD13 - PDC enable is set to TRUE

config in APIM (SYNC 3)
 DE00 - PDC HMI changed to On,
 DE01 - Flank Guard HMI changed to On,
 DE03 - Parking Assistance changed to Rear/Front PDC/SAPP (EU HMI)

config in IPC:
 DE00 - PAM-F is enabled
 DE00 - PAM-R is enabled
  - Autopark is enabled

config IPMB
 DE01 - Parking assistance changed to Parking Assistance Rear and Front

no PAM update or config available
    <m module="PAM">
        <d DID="F108" Desc="ECU Network Signal Calibration Number" Data="CM5T-14C377-AD"/>
        <d DID="F110" Desc="On-line Diagnostic Database Reference Number" Data="DS-BM5T-15K866-AG"/>
        <d DID="F111" Desc="ECU Core Assembly Number" Data="AM5T-14F159-BB"/>
        <d DID="F113" Desc="ECU Delivery Assembly Number" Data="BM5T-15K866-BR"/>
        <d DID="F124" Desc="ECU Calibration Data #1 Number" Data="BM5T-14C091-BJ"/>
        <d DID="F162" Desc="Software Download Specification Version" Data="0x04"/>
        <d DID="F163" Desc="Diagnostic Specification Version" Data="0x03"/>
        <d DID="F188" Desc="Vehicle Manufacturer ECU Software Number" Data="BM5T-14C090-BN"/>
    </m>

on dashboard I see 'Check Park Aid' warning,
DTC in PAM is U2101,
when I sest Reverse gear, 'Parking Aid Malfunction' warning appears

second PAM module 'CJ5T-15K866-AE' is working correct, but only with rear sensors.

what else should I change to make it work.
or PAM is not correct for my vehicle, maybe I should buy 'F1ET-15K866-BH', which should have config available?

any advice, please 🙂

I don’t know about NA vehicles but in European FF3 and C-Max mk2 equipped with DV6T BCM,Parking Aide Modules from FF3.5,C-Max mk2.5 and Kuga mk2(F1ET,DV4T and GJ5T)can be installed without sound loss issue,i resume the F1ET-15K866-B- will work correctly but you will need to adapt it to your car configuration since these modules are programmed to work with 12 sensors,keep in mind that the ABS module needs to be initialized and console buttons must be added,in European FF3,3.5,C-Max mk2,mk3.5 there’s the possibility to program this trough direct central configuration with Forscan this will make changes in all involved modules and avoid messing with the as built configuration.

Hi. This is it? Can I retrofit front parking sensors? I have only rear parking aid. Im not sure If these are those 2 yellow connectors that i need and If so, why are they connected.

It seems your car has already the wiring for,you need to check out if there’s a connector in the front bumper wher the sensors loom goes and in the cabin where the console buttons.are plugged.

It looks like BM5T-15K866-BR is for Focus MK3,

is it possible to update/adapt it to work with C-MAX 2013?

I installed it in my 2012 c-max and it’s working fine,all the modules are interchangeable between the two cars except for the power lift gate module witch is available on C-Max.

my C-MAX 2013 is PHEV version, maybe there is some issue?

when I try to edit PAM configuration as C-MAX, there is no config available,

when I try to edit PAM configuration as Fusion3, there is config, but nothing that about how many sensors.

This module doesn’t have as built configuration,it works only with two configurations,front and rear 4/4 sensors or 4/6 sensors front,rear and active park assist.

I have 6 front, and 4 rear sensors, what may be the probblem?

BCM ABS PSCM configured, and in PAM is DTC U2101.

What is the part number of the BCM?

I'va made it,
I entered into Data Logger on PAM module, selected Read All,
and there was answer for my question,
at position 23: Car Configuration Parameter Faults,
1st parameter number of the car configuration data that is invalid : 62
1st parameter invalid value : 9
1st parameter number of the car configuration data that is invalid : 75
1st parameter invalid value : 9

changed them, and everything is working now 🙂

62 - something about region, changed to europe,

75 - need to turn on hill assist.

You can activate this in the BCM central configuration and perform an ABS initialization.

I am genuinely surprised that this thread, started 6 years ago, has almost 600 replies. Surely it's been comprehensively answered by now, and should be closed as no one is going to read 23 pages of it to get an answer?? 😂

Hey guys!

My Focus MK3 2014 is really lowspec. The connectors are missing and based on the guide it seems that I cannot do it (at least easy and plug and play). But I really want the factory spec rather than some aftermarket ones.

I'm looking to get at least the rear ones working.

Can someone give me reference to any piece that can help in my case? Where does the yellow connector/cable go? Am I able to tap into it?

Anything and everything that can be said on this, has already been said in this 23 page thread. You need to sit down and read through all of the pages.

Yellow cables and connectors indicate that they are part of the SRS, in other words the airbags and seat belt Pretensioners.
