Focus Mk2 - Oxygen sensor plate and random pipe

Hi all,

The engine warning light came on recently so stuck a cheap ODB reader on it. Discovered it was the oxygen sensor, so first thing was to physically check it.

Well.. when i looked down the back, the small plate holding the 2 wiring connectors was loose, as was a random black pipe!

1: Does anyone know what the pipe is for? it was sort of stuffed down where the fuel pipes come in. (It has the Ford logo on it)

2: Where does the plate reconnect as I can't see down there

3: the small white 'bung' was also loose near the pipe. is this a Ford part..?

Cheers
JQ

That pipe is the scuttle panel drain pipe(the panel just below the windscreen)

Ahhh.. though it might be something like that. Will have another look with a mirror

Got the plate back on, it screws onto the timing belt cover

And the engine fault light was a blow fuse for the O2 sensors

fuses normally blow for a reason so probably the heater circuit on one of the sensors is going short circuit at some point.
