Liam out on his 5km walk from home, 10km round trip,

Stopping off to check on the sheep, loves sitting watching them and shows no signs of agression towards them.

I would so much love a dog, my wife and I have given this so much thought, but I am afraid I would become so attached I would probably be suicidal when it was eventually time to say goodbye. 😞

+1 you do become very attached especially when they have a person's name such as ours, I did that for security purposes, when asked are you at home by yourself or is there anyone at home; we can say yeah Liam is there,

Does get funny when people over hear conversation about Liam digging up the garden or moaning at me all day to rub his belly, people be looking at us like 😯

There extremely loyal too, yesterday slept on my lap in the living room with his front paws around my neck 🤗

I had stray dogs when growing up in the country side as a child, they would mostly get dumped on the road side and come to our house as we fed cats on the farm,

One of them I got close to alot as I spent most summer holidays from school; alone on the farm well by alone I mean with nobody my age, so the dog and me were it.

Unfortunately he took a taste for lambs and had to be put down, I never really got over that, and wanted a dog when I got my own house, but we had kids then and held off until the youngest was old enough to remember the dog as a pup and at no risk of the dog becoming jealous as the kids are at ages where there up and walking;

He Carey's his blanket in on to the sofa for cuddles with the kids and everything; trained to go outside for the toilet, he's very much loved and cared for by all five of us,

Overall though; your 100% correct very easy to get attached, and to talk to them great company.

Oh thats a lovely story apart from the sad part you mention about your previous dog having to be put down

It sounds like you have a great dog in Liam, I'm so envious:-)

I have fish but I don't think they are furry 🐠😅

Not unless they have whitespot 🙂

I used to keep marine fish, had a coral reef tank, it helped me to haemorrhage money 🙂

I have lost track of the number of dogs we've had in the family over the years. They are both a joy and a pain (at times) but I wouldn't be without them.

After I moved into my flat last year I went from being surrounded with the family dogs to having one. Pepper's also enjoying the quieter life and for the last few months, when I'm (trying to) work from home, she's in this spot on the back of the sofa.

So springers do actually sleep then 🙂 🙂

Our oldest cocker spaniel is around 14 years old (I think) now and sleeps in my father's bedroom at the other house. When she's ready to go to bed she usually pesters my father or his partner to go upstairs as well

We had to make the most gut wrenching decision yesterday afternoon to let our beloved pampered Boxer join her soulmate :sadwalk:

RIP Poppy

It's always hard when you have to make that decision.

Unfortunately, our Doberman (Skye) collapsed and died from a suspected heart attack a few weeks ago. She was ~9 years old and had been a little unwell but it was sudden and unexpected at the time.

*Edit* attached a photo with Skye and our Poppy just on the edge of the photo. Poppy's ~14 years old and is getting on a bit. She's also unfortunately not particularly well and has been deaf for a good few years.
