Do all mk4 focus have this? It’s a very cool feature so probably an extra 🤔 grilles open at low speeds then closes at faster speeds for better aero dynamics. I’ll need to get someone to drive In front , check their mirror...

This is ancient tech...all the Mk3s had it as far back as 2010!!

Works well until it gets stuck closed and the engine overheats...

Standard for whole range?

Was deleted from from MY 2017 MK 3.5 diesel models. Don't know about Mk 4.

It’s new to me, saw it on the Ford website.

“Standard mk4 feature” apparently.

“All mk3 have it “ too ..

Why have I never heard of this or spotted it on other cars ? 🤔

You can't see it, it's behind the bumper, as seen here on my Mk3.   Shutter flaps are open here, close up below.

It's for emissions reduction so definitely not an optional extra.  Not sure if it's on all engines (for example ST emissions are going to be high anyway!) but it's definitely on all trims with the diesels and 1.0EB etc.  It was briefly deleted due to reliability issues, and then again during Mk3.5 probably for cost, but generally the majority of Mk3s have them.
