MK2 heater box part number?

Featured Replies

Good evening everyone,

My heater box assembly is cracked which causes hot air from heater core leaking into leg compartment. I managed to seal it off with heat resistant tape, but it's only a temporary fix. I've been trying to find an used heater box / case but it's really hard without knowing the ford part number. Does anyone know what would be the best place to find that component? Scrap yard? I don't know what's the cost of a new one, because I simply couldn't find it anywhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'm afraid I have no info at all on the actual part you need, but, running elderly cars for decades, I am well use to getting parts from scrapyards. That is by far your best bet as the part, to be honest, is something that would normally last the life of  car, so the odds of you getting a decent working one 'used' is really good. Buying a part like that new wouldn't make economic sense for a car the age we have. First port of call would be something like Ebay. Do a quick search on that, and make sure the year/model no. matches yours. I also have the luxury of a local breaker who dismantles all sorts of cars, and catalogues parts really thoroughly. Maybe there's someone local to you that does the same? Google search may find them. Best of luck anyway, and welcome to the forum...

If you put your VIN into https://ford.7zap.com/en/car/ it will give you build specific info and once you've found the right page it will list all the part numbers for each 3D diagram.  Over the years I've used it loads of times for carious MK2 Focus parts without any problems.
