..All permissions are allowed...

I know.. Unfortunately with every Android update something changes on the permissions area.

Anyway the problem is fixed and an update will follow hopefully soon enough. Unfortunately here's another Google modification on some API that made the update to take a little bit more time.

So, hopefully soon enough the fix will be up. Please have a little bit of patience.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the update and look forward to the updated app.

same  problem here after update.

@Lumberjack

Hi. I've updated the Dashcam app on my phone so I can now view and download the video files to my phone, but I still can't control the dashcam through the Sync 4 app in the car, even after I've connected to the dashcam with my phone.

@sparkymatt

Hi, Is the mobile apps on SYNC active? - that means the Android Auto/ CarPlay should be deactivated.

Sorry, I didn't saw your reply.

Please do the following:

  1. Delete the dashcam pairing
  2. Clear Cache
  3. Clear Data
  4. Uninstall app
  5. Reinstall the app
  6. Pair the dashcam.

Please see this in the video here: https://youtu.be/5zmUSjnnZFU.

Please grant all the permissions requested.

@Lumberjack

Yes, Android Auto is disabled and running the standard Sync.

@sparkymatt

Please check the App Store/ Google Play for the app update. Lately were released some.

Please tell me what phone do you have. It would be nice if you can send me some screenshots/ recordings also a video with the issue.

Please use our app support email address: [email protected].

Thanks.

@Lumberjack

I am running the latest release update of the app from the Google play store. My phone is a Samsung S23 Ultra updated to Android 14.

I can use the app on the phone no problem since the update. I can view and download all video files. It's just the Sync controls I can't use.

I will take a video of the Sync screen and will send to the support email address when I get a chance.

Will talk more there.

Hi All. I’m a new member here so “Hello”!

I have a question that someone might be able to answer? I have this dash cam fitted to my 2022 Puma S and I’m very pleased with it but now wish I had gone for one with a rear camera, so the question is could a second unit be fitted at the rear without messing up the Sync?

I know it would be an expensive way to get a rear camera but it’s a question I haven’t seen.

thanks in advance.

Are you talking about the Ford dashcam ? The one with no audio and the speed in kph (no option for mph)

Hi. Yeah the one in this thread.

Hi. You can install 2 DashCams on the car, but:

  • The angle of the DashCam will not suit the rear window so I don't know if will do any good. The lens inclination is not customizable. It was designed for the windshield angle only.
  • The cables is not long enough.
  • Will not be covered by warranty since the installation will not be as in the install guide.
  • The SYNC is connected with the phone, not directly with the DashCam. A single cam will connect with the phone and that specific cam will synchronize with the SYNC.

Thanks,

Ovidiu

Thank you for the reply. I like the camera that I have so I’m going to live with it for a while and see how it goes? I may be tempted to swap it out eventually for something like the next base 622. It’s a shame Ford didn’t up the spec a little to include audio and a rear view option.

No worries. NextBase is ok, but you will have to take in consideration that in parking mode it's current draw is huge.

What can I say, we can do a lot of things, we only need to have Ford approval.

Cheers!

I use a voice controlled 70mai as a rear dashcam as, like you, I also wanted a rear camera capability.

I have a question - is it possible to pair this camera with several mobile phones? There are two drivers in my case with separate phones. When I pair wit one phone binding with the other one is gone.

Yes, the camera can be paired with multiple phones. Of course, they cannot work simultaneously, only one at a time.

This shouldn't be happening. Can you give me more details?

Thank you,

Ovidiu

Car is mustang mach e GT 2022 with SYNC4 system. Phones are both samsungs. Just one at the time - as you said. I can pair one phone. and it works ok. Than I can pair second phone and it will also work ok. When I will go back next time to the first phone again it will see dashcam on the list but not as ready anymore. I is now seen on the first phone as not bonded. It is on the list but you can not access it. I can add it again. using "+" button. It will pair dashcam again but it will create in the app second line with the same dashcam name. I have two lines with same camera name on the phone one. One is marked as "not bounded" and second as "ready". I did remove firs uncative line and it works ok again. But when I will next time use phone number 2 - same story. Second phone has on the list dashcam but as "not bounded" and not as "ready".

It is just like by using Bluetooth pairing button dashcam was forgetting previous pairings with previous phones. Maybe It is still remembered in applications on the phone by apparently not by dashcam

@Lumberjack

Let me know if some more details are needed  - I will provide them. Dashcam software is latest version available.

Also, could you please tell me what is the biggest SD card supported? I use 32GB now

Please make a video of the entire procedure so I can understand exactly the steps you're taking. Use a file-sharing platform like WeTransfer and send it to me.

I am currently using a 256GB SD card without any issues. However, keep in mind that with a large, full card, the startup time is significantly longer.

@Lumberjack

Today I filmed all operation from the start as you requested. I did all configuration from the beginning once again and it started to work correctly in both phones. So the problem is no more. I must have done something incorrectly/differently previously. Thank you for your help.

I installed the dashcam close to central mirror. To access SD cart slot comfortably I need to tilt mirror down.
