clutch pedal problem

hi my 2004 ford fusion petrol for the past few days whilst driving, when pushing the clutch pedal down to change gear i hear a click sound and the clutch pedal drops fully to the floor but when i pump the clutch pedal it comes up back up to normal iv checked fluid level its fine 

what could be the problem any ideas please thanks

Heard of this problem and not happened to myself yet.... possibly this ? but i thought this problem caused no clutch operation whatsoever.

If it is this and you can't get the part over the christmas break, use a strong tyerap over the peg end as a temp fix.

hi recieved the pedal clip on tuesday it came with the allen key iv just installed it and it fixed the problem i dont know how to thank you but you have easily saved me atleast £300 thanks

Same thing happened to me on monday evening. I managed to get home with out having to change gears. Ordered the clip on Tuesday morning, it arrived this morning. Took about 5 minutes to fix, now fully working.
