Hi Geoff, glad it all went well.

Don't worry about adding your car back into FordPass, Ford won’t be able to tell you’ve used Cyanlabs.

The only other thing I’ve done is to turn off Automatic Updates is Sync settings. That way I’m still on Sync 3.4.20351 and F9 maps as far as Ford know and I’ll still be offered official updates.

Sync 3.4.21020 now an official update in the USA. I'm downloading to see what's in the package. Hopefully not too long to wait for the UK official update.

The download contains:

Interrogator - GB5T-14G386-AD  (xml log generator)

According to F150Chief over on CyanLabs forum this new file renames autoinstall.lst to autoinstall.bak after installation. This makes sure the update will only run once. If you wanted to run the update again you'd have change the autoinstall extension from .bak to .lst.

I presume those who have updated using Cyanlabs for 3.4.21020 & F10 maps will just ignore the the official release when it comes ?.

Yes, that's what I'll be doing.

The only thing I will do once they're officially released is download and run the xml log file generator so I can let Ford know I'm on the latest version.

UPDATE:

Sync 3.4.21020 is now official in the UK for the Ford Edge for now.

I entered a VIN from a UK 2019 model and the update showed up at 3.1GB

The download contains:

Iv'e just checked the Ford update site , telling me i'm upto date on my system and maps. The good thing is the silly 8gb map update that no one could install has finally gone.

It's still there for me.

Ford always seem to release Sync3 and Map updates first for the Edge in Europe.

1.7gb sync update available to me on the Ford website. I’ll get my bro to sort that again! Says there’s a map update after the sync one. Is it the 8.2gb one that doesn’t seem to work?

Hi Alex,

The map update afterwards will definitely be F10. @Andyr55 got F10 after his Sync update and the size was 22-23gb.

The website yesterday was offering sync and maps updates. Checked today..it’s back to ‘software up to date’ and 8.2gb map !

That's strange. Wonder what the hell is going on with Ford's servers.

I've just checked the wife's Fiesta and she's still being offered the update.

Shows up to date with mine but I only have F9 maps.

Mines F9 currently. I’m always hoping with updates an improvement in Ford navigation, never happens. As much as it’s clever (live traffic adjusting routes etc) it consistently takes me the ‘scenic route’ to my destinations. Never shortest or fastest routes. I’ll be comparing with Apple maps. I’d bet on Apple being better but reliant on a phone signal. Ford nav can be back up. Anyway Ford website still isn’t offering me the sync update or the 20gb F10 maps. 🤷‍♂️

Yep, I was the same. Update sync first and then maps to F10. 22/23 gb

ive plugged in the usb stick, clicked on download , it’s downloading just now. When it comes to moving files and formatting things I’m clueless..

Managed to install an old version of sync !!! Must have been on the stick. I’ve replaced it with hopefully the new update. I know people have posted instructions for pc sync updates b4. If anyone can find them please put a link on here. Cheers

The LST_ERR05 shows that the files listed in your autoinstall.lst don’t match the files in your SyncMyRide folder.

When you copy the 21020 Sync update files over to the SyncMyRide folder on your USB drive you’ll have to copy the autoinstall.lst file that came with them too.
