MK2 Facelift Keyless Remote Start

Does anyone know if the MK2 Facelift stock keyless entry system with push start allows you to start the car via the key fob?

If so how do you do it and if not can the key be replaced with a newer one to allow this function?

The short answer is "No"

Is your Ford Walford an Automatic ? if it is then you could possibly do an update of your system to Sync 3 and use the Ford Pass App, but to be honest I think it probably still wouldn't work.

I'd love to see sync 3 in a mk2 focus 😏.

No you can't start it from the fob. I can't think of any 12+ year old cars that are able to do it.

I have seen older ford focus cars with an even older fob that you could remote start a car? This must have been an optional extra...

You can buy after market remote start kits for many cars including the Ford Focus, but only for Automatics.

Or an aftermarket kit...

For starters, there's no provision for you leaving the car in gear.

Your insurance will be void should you choose to fit an aftermarket kit. As you can imagine, it's a bit of a security risk having a running engine with nobody in it. All it takes is a smashed window in order to drive off. Same goes with turbo timers.
