Ford pass deep sleep

Featured Replies

I have an old fashioned car that is either on or off. What can't you do in 'deep sleep' which you can if it's only nodding off?

Remote unlock/start. I'm not sure if guard mode will work either.

It's just the modem that enters deep sleep, and triggers the message on ford pass.

I believe this is the very definition of a, 'first world problem' LOL

Couldn't agree more Stephen. This just seems like a lot of gimmickry for the sake of it and I can't see where it has any really important purpose.

Will SSM 49795 resolve the problem.

maybe if we all ask our Ford dealer someone may have the answer?

I really feel the size of car manufacturing R&D teams are an issue. They are so huge with such massive budgets, that they just expand their remit to full the time available. If there were a dozen talented men in a shed, they would just design a car that was reliable, and worked, rather than designing a futile gimmick which future owners just despair at!

Kind of, and my post was of course tongue in cheek lol.  But if you're in a rush somewhere unknown and need the sat nav on, it's very annoying waiting several minutes for it to load up and then find your position.  Equally if you've left your keys in your manbag, not expecting to need them to open or start the car, it's annoying to have to search for them because the keyless entry doesn't work.  The low voltage also seems to disable the auto-hold randomly, which could be dangerous when you're used to it working.

It feels like a 'feature' that's the same as that in my frost free freezer...  Technology has come so far that we've made things less effective by adding to their convenience!

Yes, and they'd spend time testing it properly rather than leaving their customers to discover all the issues.

I often refer to issues like that as a 'Concorde' moment. On me growing up, Concorde represented the pinnacle of public transport, flying across the world at 1440 Mph (twice the speed of sound). Even seeing it sitting stationary at an airport filled me with pride. Never in my life would I have ever afforded a ticket on her, but just knowing she was there in the world was very comforting. Now, not even rich people can fly from London to New York in 3 hours - the world definitely took a step backwards!

A lot of this stuff is pants.  I did a 323 mile trip from rugby to Edinburgh and at the end my stop start still didn't work due to "engine on due to vehicle charging"

Well just done a 100 round trip motorway driving. On return home.

the car has been to dealer and no fault found. Any suggestions?

Oh how I love Stop/Stop and Broke/Broke the endless fun that can be had guessing the reason why today it works but yesterday it didn't and tomorrow who knows 🤣

The dealer recons battery fine and charging.

blaming the dashcam for draw down. Also as fitted after car purchase negates the car warranty!!

anyway have agreed to fit a new battery (under warranty) and advised to unplug dashcam when car not in use.

the story continues 😉

Indeed Tom, and every DashCam I've ever owned has always switched itself off after a brief preset time. Surely if the dealer was blaming it, they'd have just attached a multimeter to battery to see what current was being used after power down?? You just can't get the staff these days  🤣

God loves a trier 🙂. You do know that even if by some mirical you do get Start/Stop working it won't last more than a couple of months at best.

I give you full marks for percaverance 👍, I'd have just given up on it by now. Mind you I did spend a couple of weeks working out how to permanently turn the system off on my car, and it does bring a sence of satifaction each time I look down and see the 'Off' illuminated on the button.

Not just stop start but remote lock unlock and securguard on app.

whether you like it or not ( I do) if it should work I want it working! It’s not as if these cars are cheap😏

Hi Andrew, sorry I didn't realise about the other issues. I had the same last year with the app not doing remote start, and securguard was on but coudn't get it to turn off.

After many tries I eventually found a work around which then fixed the problem and all has been ok since.

I uninstalled Ford Pass from my phone and did a master reset on the car. I then installed Ford Pass Pro on my phone and re-established registration with the car. That app worked without any problems. I then re-installed the basic Ford Pass and as if by magic it worked.

I have kept both apps on my phone and they are both working fine now (been over 10 months).

Good luck in getting everything sorted but I do feel that you're on a hiding to nothing with the S/S.

I'm having problems with FordPass

Very interesting well done.

since my dealer changed my battery and reset the BMS I have not had the deep sleep issue.

iam still doing a very low mileage so expect it to fail anytime. Unless the battery swop has resolved. Fingers crossed!

Will SSM 49795 resolve the problem. ?  Any one had a dealer aware of this software update?

Just as an update. Despite Ford diagnoses on the car finding no fault I persisted and my dealer reluctantly agreed to change the battery ( despite tests showing no error). Since the battery change I have had no issues with deep sleep and all functions work despite my very low mileage.

Well, that should solve the problem for a few months, according to the numerous threads here on this issue LOL
