Jb316
I am thinking of buying a 2016 Ranger 2.2 tdci. I have been reading up on common faults and came across the oil pump failure. My question is what year does this effect? Is it older models or would this be a likely issue for a 2016 model. Thanks
iantt
I've heard of this issue but never seen one ranger with fault while I worked at ford garage. Left in 2017 so can't comment on trouble after higher mileage. Did loads of oil pumps under a recall on transit and custom 2.2 tdci which pretty much is the same engine. Mate of mine has got a mapped 2013 ranger and it gets a hard time daily and his oil pump is still working fine after 100k mileage approx.
