Ged65
Hello, I'm desperately hoping someone can help me, my partner has a ford Fiesta 1.4 zetec mk6 (2007). For the past year the battery has not held charge if it has been left for two or three weeks without being used even though it's a new battery, this was because we are both disabled in the high risk group and so have not been going out in the car. A few days ago she went shopping and upon return shortly after leaving the supermarket the car lost all power, the only indication of trouble was that the indicators were very rapid even though no bulbs are out. The RAC though it was the alternator at fault, but my mechanic said it checked out OK. So what it the problem? We were told it was most likely the Body Control Module and that this will be very expensive to fix and will require the main dealership, it's money we don't have, they want £90 an hour just to diagnose the fault with no stipulation how many hours it might take. My partner relies on the car to get her to her frequent hospital appointments in Sheffield. I have tried to research the fault but without much luck, I wondered if there might be a drain instead of it being the BCM but my health is too poor to check it out for her. I have heard of Forscan, but I'm not sure what it's able to tell me, for instance is it able to confirm the BCM or a drain. I can't find anyone who is experienced enough to help us get an accurate diagnose of the fault or possibly repair it. We live in Doncaster and I wondered if anyone knew of a specialist garage or mechanic with enough knowledge who might be able to help/advise us. We hate asking anyone for help, but we really are in a fix at present.
Luke4efc
I'm not sure why you've posted this in the club meets section lol Best to keep your replies in one topic so that you don't get repeat answers.
